“lovely area”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

This is the area that I stayed in. It is close to Philipsburg. It is partially Dutch & part French (with only a marker designating). I was unable to locate a "oyster pond beach" but Dawn beach is in Oyster Pond. That is a nice beach on the Dutch side. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CREPE AT BZH (French side) !!! The best crepes I could find on the whole island-reasonable pricing for the island, also. Le Planteur had WONDERFUL salad & dessert as well.

“Oyster Pond Review”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

My husband and I stayed in Oyster Pond for 8 days in January. This is a quiet area of St. Maarten with some lovely restaurants and a few shops. There are many condominiums for rent in this area as well as some small hotels and several marinas. There is never a crowd here, which can be desirable if the day has been spent amongst the hustle and bustle of Simpson Bay and Phillipsburg. The area is also home to Dawn Beach, which is serviced by a beach bar and area of rental chairs and umbrellas. In addition, there is a small grocery store here as well. As an added benefit, the French side of St. Martin is literally steps away. If one is looking for a quiet place to visit for lunch or dinner, or a place to stay, Oyster Pond would be an excellent choice.

“Love this area!”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

Lot's a decent places to eat on both sides of the Pond. Captain Olivers Marina area on the French side has many good restaurants. Some open for just breakfast and lunch. Several good hotels--Princess Heights, Oyster Bay Beach Club, and Cap. Olivers Marina hotel to name a few. There are villa rentals all over the place as well.

“Love Oyster Pond”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

We just returned from our second vacation to Oyster Pond. The area is beautiful and full of terrific restaurants. It is a nice quiet section of the island. We rent a private little villa from a couple that are just a blast to stay with, private pool which is like being in heaven every day that you are there.
We will return and stay in Oyster Pond again.
