“Eat More Lion Fish!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

I was hesitant to try Lion Fish. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did. The Lion Fish tacos are amazing and so are plenty of others things on the menu. Although we were not staying at Ocean Frontiers, we happily made the 15 minute commute each way (several times in 9 days) because of the food and superior customer service. Rahul remembered our names, what we ate and drank and was super friendly. The cooks and other staff were always smiling, polite and responsive. A lot of the local dive guys hang out there as well so we always ran I to someone we had dove with on this trip. Because of the bar, it is very likely we will be staying at Ocean Frontiers in the near future. Chef Ron has done an amazing job at his other restaurant (upscale and way more formal) and we are so happy he has brought us a casual place to hang out, have a few drinks and AMAZING food and staff. Thank you Chef Ron!!

“Perfect view, casual, tasty food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

This is a new bar & grill (open for 2.5 weeks when we went) on the pool deck of the Ocean Frontiers dive resort. We had no real business being there except the Lionfish tacos were highly recommended, so we went on an adventure.

I enjoyed a nice glass of white tip lager, and we snacked on cuban bread while waiting for our entrees. The bread wasn't spectacular (it would be if you were STARVING, like right off the dive boat), it was served with a marinara and caesar dressing mixture.

The Lionfish tacos were tasty, served with a side of fries. I ate them all up. Our server told tall tales of a Lionfish hunting contest where the Ocean Frontiers and the Tortuga divers collected 200 pounds of the invasive fish. Again, we were happy to do our part in supporting eradication.

The tacos were served with a cabbage slaw and mayonnaise based sauce. Yummy, relatively light yet filling.

The view of the ocean and the dock was superb - the resort is small (intimate?) and focused on divers, so being able to survey all the activity below the pool deck was interesting.

The service was great, our server was quite personable, and answered all of our curious questions patiently. Metal sting ray art adorned the walls...really pretty.

If you have time to burn, and want a cool, casual hang out spot while sipping beer or enjoying lunch, overlooking the water, this place was really top notch.

“Great Food & Drink after a dive!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Owner of Tukka Restaurant in East End partners with owner of Ocean Frontiers to fill a (sorely lacking) market need for dining and bar at Compass Point Dive Resort. Couldn't be more convenient; and still has the high standards of food and beverage service well-known at Tukka a mile up the street.

Eagle Ray's is well-staffed and organized; elevated views above the sea so you can watch the boats come in! The cute thatched roof lends an island flair; and Chef Ron Hargrave's attention to detail make sit all work well. Very fair prices and it is easy to lose an afternoon at Eagle Ray's with the warm breeze and beautiful oceanfront setting.

I particularly like that it is casual...bathing suit, cover-up, shorts with flip-flops. If you want a nicer dining experience; go 1 mile north to the flagship Tukka Restaurant. Eagle Ray's gets all the fresh seafood that Tukka offers daily; as well as access to the Tukka winelist, bar and professional wait-staff.

We ate here 4 times during a week in July and we weren't even staying at the resort or diving with Ocean Frontiers!
