Pros: directly across street from The Reef Resort & Morritts, no reservations necessary. Good Italian pasta dishes (especially liked the spaghetti carbonara (nice amounts of cheese, very heavy skip the diet on this one); beet salad a bit skimpy on the cheese and nuts for the price; sauteed calamari appit. was excellent perfectly cooked and tender. Good pizza, yes I am from NY so it is good pizza. Convenient take out, call ahead.
Cons: spending an evening with wine, appitizer, entree and dessert should include a nice basket of bread with some EVOO for dipping!! Having to purchase either garlic knots or ciabatta bread is just plain rude to the dining customer. I could understand if a party of 6/8 continually requested baskets of free bread, but it was a bit tacky to respond by saying "we don't give out free bread, but we do have two choices for $2.00 per order". Overall it is very good food and nice relaxing atmosphere.

Two dinners with salads and drinks for $120.00 US. Bread for your pasta? $2.00 extra.

Not even close to being worth those prices. Order a pizza to go and you'll be much happier.

This place was better when it first opened. We're wondering what happened.

Hi TheAppleCore,
Thank you for your review. I am not sure why your experience was different from last year. We have the same chefs, the same menu and we have not increased our prices since the day we opened. I hope that you will join us again and have a more positive review. Tropical Regards.

We've been to the Italian Kitchen several times. Every time we find something else to come back for. This time it's the Calamari appetizer. Normally it is offered fried, Calamari Fritti. They have it and it tastes great, but, the surprise was the Sauted Calamari. It was a little spicy, nicely flavored and very tender. I'm going back tonight for an entree size (double) dish of this delicacy.

This restaurant was close to our lodgings, was recommended by the condo owner. We dined here the night of our arrival and the night before departure. My hubby had the pizza and rated it very good, thin crust, plenty of toppings. He enjoyed the chicken parm on the second visit, I tried it and it was fabulous. I had lasagna, very enjoyable. I had a caesar salad, this I found boring and dry. We had the same server both nights, we found her helpful, informative and very courteous. We would return if/when we visit again.

We ate at The Italian Kitchen this evening and couldn't have been more disappointed. Our server, Mirelys, approached our table and explained the menu specials to ONE of us ... all the while completing ignoring the other. Rude. This behavior continued throughout our meal and then we lost her completely when we ordered dessert. We ordered chocolate mousse from her, and she came back to clarify what we wanted ... was it our check? She obviously didn't listen to what we said. Apparently, the 15% auto-gratuity prevents good service as servers are guaranteed to get tips. The food was average - we had higher expectations for fresher seafood considering we are on a Caribbean Island. Refills on Diet Coke will run you full price. That's right ... 2 Diet Cokes with refills cost $12 Cayman. One entree that we split, two appetizers, two Diet Cokes (with a refill) and a shared dessert cost $94.88 The only reason this restaurant does not get one star is because we did like the red pepper sauce on our entree.
