As the name implies, Ron, the owner of this restaurant is Australian. The food has a lovely mixture of Caribbean and Australian. There are a few items on the menu listed as Ron's recommendations, which are very well worth trying. Ron usually comes around all the tables each evening to greet the guests and is always happy to talk about the menu.

Every day at about 5 pm, the waste fish is fed to the birds and fish outside the rear of the restaurant. on our last visit there were 24 Frigate birds which came to enjoy the feast. They fly very close and sometimes will take the food from the hand of the feeder. It is a fantastic sight, because these birds can have a wingspan of over 7 foot. Obviously the fish are not so easy to see, but we clearly saw the huge Tarpon and Shark.

The atmosphere is the icing on the cake, but the quality of the menu items is what keeps me coming back. I had calamari to start with, panfried fresh Lionfish for main and was very tasty and presented beautifully. My wife had the Bree to start and the Shrimp Curry for main- both delicious and even got a 'wow'. Some of the chefs are Indian, and these guys can put together a mean curry- if you like curry then this is your dish, and ask them to cook it just how they'd do it for themselves. The night was also blessed with a big full moon, rising just as we finished our appetizers. Hard to beat and probably the best meal I've had in Cayman as far back as I can remember.

Restaurants on Grand Cayman are crazy expensive. Tukka has a great Walkabout multi course dinner offering on Wednesdays that is a must try. The appetizer course gives you an assortment of 3 items: conch fritter, Brie, and a spring roll. All delightfully presented. Then comes a fantastic sorbet palate cleanser. For main course I had the brochettes: shrimp, lobster, chicken, and lamb on a stick served with potatoes and green beans. My hubby had filet and kangaroo sausage. He said both were excellent. Dessert was sticky pudding and peach cobbler with ice cream. The special is 40CI and includes a glass of wine or bottle of beer each. Food was quite good, great water views on the deck, friendly staff and lively evening for a reasonable price.

We traveled to the East End to get a glimpse of the remote beaches and have thanksgiving dinner at Tukka, the west indies / Australian themed restaurant. Unlike many of the casual island taverns and eateries, Tukka is a dining experience with carefully prepared dishes that are tasty and well presented. We did not venture to try the exotic Kangaroo sausage, but we sampled a variety of appetizers and fish entrees. Our 5 year old daughter opted for a hamburger that was quality meat and excellently prepared.

The East End is removed from the hustle and bustle of George Town and the West End. Much of the area reminded me of the lower cape areas of Cape Cod, but with an island atmosphere.
