“Peaceful, relaxing, splendid views, everything you need”

We have visited Crete many times but this was our first holiday in the western part of the island. We really enjoyed the lush green landscape. Driving around Neo Horio, you can enjoy lovely views of the Lefki Ori ( the White Mountains). There are so many places to visit, we especially enjoyed trips to all the different lovely beaches, Chania itself seemed extremely busy - we much prefered our trip into Rethymnon, lunch by the harbour and a rather lovely little archaeological museum. As they say in Scotland ....cannae wait to go back. Kind regards and thanks to Georgia and Rodos for their gifts of Olive oil, raki and food on arrival, Trish and Jim xxx

“Beautiful house that exceeded our expectations”

This is a beautiful restored house with lovely furnishings, a great patio area and a wonderful view. It exceeded our expectations and some of the photos on this site don't actually do it justice. We loved staying here on the edge of this (generally) quiet, friendly village which has basic amenities and tavernas but is far enough from the beach to avoid being touristy and so retains its own character. Beach, mountains and towns are a short drive away so all in all a great location for those who want to be close to all three but not right in the thick of things. The owners were lovely and really helpful (they even came to change the sheets halfway though and had provided some basic food items on our arrival as well as their own homemade olive oil and wine). They were interested in knowing our opinion to improve things for the next people so some of the (very few) negatives I mention may well be sorted out by the time of the next booking. This wasn't a cheap option for just the two of us but on the whole I was really glad to have gone for this house over some of the cheaper, more standard villas available. Would definitely return.

Liked best: Really beautiful house with lots of character, ditto furnishings, comfortable, a great patio/garden, fantastic view, quiet, great location, lovely helpful owners
Liked least: Too easy to lock yourself out (we did twice) as front/patio door has no external handle. Bathroom lacks shower curtain so have to mop after. Would have prefered duvet to sheets and blankets. Numbers worn on cooker nobs so some guesswork required.
