“A quirky hideaway - an oasis of peace”

Forget Paris and Provence - this is the real France! Unspoilt, uncrowded, un-touristy (we barely heard an English voice in 2 weeks - bliss!!) and with breath taking views around every corner.
This little cottage is set back from the tiny chapel (the bells chime every hour from 7am to 7pm - no need for an alarm!) in a secluded hamlet with amazing views from the balcony (we really did hear the owls hooting at night). We hadn't quite appreciated the layout from the description - the master bedroom is really a large landing which leads to the twin-bedded room and there is no proper bathroom as such just a large shower, W.C and sink on the ground floor - but this added to the charm of the property. Comfy beds and lounge area, plenty of hot water, and the usual idiosyncrasy of an old property made this a welcome place to come back to after a day exploring the area. The swimming pool is amazing - so private and peaceful (shame it wasn't warmer).

We had a great holiday and feel we have only scratched the surface of the area despite discovering one of "plus beaux villages de France" around every corner - we canoed, swam and "pedalo-ed" in a nearby lake, visited chateaux, vineyards and local markets, and even swung from the treetops at an adventure centre. Something for everyone.
