Reviewed October 5, 2013

we decided to take a weekend break to the south of France and stumbled across this jewel. the little town is quint (had amazing thin crust pizza from the local pizza place) in the typical ancient styl of this area. this botique hotel has n modern French interior with amazing detail. Service was impeccable, rooms clean en of a high standard. breakfast included the typical spread if French breads, fruit and yogurt. overall we had an amazing time, perfect for a weekend rests. highly recommended.

What a fantastic place to stay. Situated in a quiet small village, this was a pleasant surprise.
Wonderful modern and spacious rooms with two great swimming pools. Our rooms were renovated stables and were superb. Close to some wonderful tourist spots like the Pont du Gard and Musee de Bon Bon. Also short travel distance to the city of Avignon and the wonderful historic town of Uzes. Great roads for cycling in this area. Very friendly staff and good food available.

Absolutely loved this place. Beautiful surrounds, design, food, wine, friendly family owners the lot.

The house is beautifully decorated both inside and out, all set in a charming and quiet village. The outside terrace which leads on to the pool area is glamorous for summer evening dining.

Service from start to finish was excellent, with the food and wine very good.

Hope to return soon.

This was one of the best hotels in our one-month voyage in Provence and Italy. Everything was above expectations - starting from the charming town itself to the actual property - a manor house with an extremely lovely olive trees grove, just as from Van Gogh's pictures.

We were initially shown a room at the second floor; we liked everything so much that we immediately asked if we could stay another night, and were so lucky that another room "La Piscine" was available for 2 nights. It turned even better for us with heavy luggage - "La Piscine" was on the first floor, with the easy access from the garden.

The car parking was nearby on the property, free and safe. The room was huge - it had one grand bedroom and a smaller one which we used as closet. The bathroom was exceptional with a huge bathtub and a separate shower. The bedroom was very cozy, nicely furnished, the bed extremely comfortable. WiFi worked great in the room.

Stepping into the garden from the bedroom's sliding glass door one finds a pleasant semi-private seating area/patio with a table and two lounge chairs arranged around an old tree's trunk, and the whole seating place stays in the shade of the tree's crown, marvelous. This patio was extremely relaxing, facing the garden and the pool, yet it was far enough from the communal areas, although it is not fenced or obscured from other guests.

Breakfast was very good - eggs, croissants, coffee, yogurt, cold cuts, fruit salad, juices, included in the rate. It was served either inside or in the garden open-air section. The whole place was very tastefully decorated, it was so tranquil and charming. The hosts were courteous and helpful, in the best tradition of the French hospitality.

The location was very convenient to drive to Pont du Gard, Orange, Avignon, Nîmes. We loved this place and always recalled it with pleasure.

Minor inconveniences:

The only bizarre thing was that it was strictly forbidden to eat in the room! Having that wonderful seating space outside the room with a table and two chairs seemed to tempt that prohibition; we did not ask for specifics of what exactly was prohibited to consume but we dared to drink the wine there.

However, obviously due to the eating ban, there was no fridge or minibar. We stayed in September and it was not very hot, but still I love to have the cold bottled water available and better yet, a chilled bottle of the sparkling wine.

Also being in Provence it is so pleasant to have a little snack after a whole day of sightseeing, eating some cheese and other local specialties while sipping cooled wine. I found that eating prohibition (allegedly for hygiene reason!) unreasonable. We ate in the room, of course (leaving no trace of the action), as it is our travel ritual, but I did not appreciate to make a great secret of it and not being able to take some food openly to the outside table for the complete evening enjoyment and relaxation under the ancient tree and the bright moonlight. That left a nuance of a slightly incomplete pleasure.

I still rank the hotel as excellent, due to its exceptional comforts and overall exquisiteness, despite that strange eating-in-the-room prohibition. There was a restaurant at the hotel, but we did not wish to eat there, although it was full (a good sign for the kitchen).

One last remark - if you have lots of luggage, beware of the room on the second floor - there was no elevator while lots of stairs. Our room on the first floor "La Piscine" was perfect for easy access.

Overall, it is a marvelous place to stay, we truly enjoyed our 2 nights there and would be happy to return. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have a nice view and lots of privacy but there is no elevator while lots o...

Quite simply La Belle Vie is one of the best places that we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed in some very good hotels/ chambres d'hotes. First and foremost the family owners are totally charming, friendly, welcoming and helpful. From the moment that we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. Straight after being shown our room we were sitting on the beautiful outside terrace with a chilled glass of wine (and diabolo fraises for the kids) plus some olives from their own trees in the garden and chatting with Matthieu the son of the owner. Madame is a fantastic host and also cooks lovely food. Monsieur is a warm and humourous man. The whole family put you at ease and ensure that your stay is relaxing. The hotel is very stylishly decorated. It is luxurious too with wonderful bed linen and towels. Breakfast on the terrace is delicious. The bedroom was very spacious. Simple and delicious provencal style evening meals are available. But you aren't left feeling onbliged to eat there either and the family will recommend and book local restaurants suited to your tastes. As to all of the facilities, there is easy parking, free wifi, and a good outdoor swimming pool. All in all a wonderful place.

Room Tip: We stayed in Le Clocher which is wonderfully spacious and very good for a family of four.
