The best part about this hotel is its location, very close to the Belur temple.

Otherwise this a average hotel. The staff are not well trained, though they do try to help. The facilities are not well maintained, we had trouble with hot water in 2 rooms. The rooms are reasonably clean, but the furnishing is very old and worn out.

The attached restaurant is considered the best one around by the locals, but the taste is average. They do have breakfast, lunch and dinner which makes it convenient.

I would recommend this hotel for the traveller who is looking for a days quick stop over at Belur, but if you are looking for a great hotel/staying experience this is not for you.

Its in a great lcoation for the temple and resturant is good
Hotel room itself is nothing special but does the job.

The sheets were hysterical... ripped in long strips and about 20 coin size holes through-out. They were like very clean strip rags with bullet holes.

Rooms do need a good dust and clean and new linen, however, they are very large and bed comfortable. Hotel staff arranged the best taxi drive we had in india - so the staff's advise is trustworth.

This was a totally unexpected trip that had that night in which I wanted to go to chennai and landed up in Belur. Sounds funny ?!

I reached Belur bus stand by 3.45 AM (bangalore) and i was hoping that a couple of Auto drivers are gonna fly near to you as soon as you get down the bus (like how it happens in Bangalore). But there was neither autos nor human beings anywhere around, but a couple of stray dogs who are busy sleeping.

So, i had to walk a bit towards the temple side and spotted this hotel. As it was too early in the morning, I had to bang on the shutter to wake up the security guard who was sleeping inside. After 5 min of attempts, he was awake and was so energetic to welcome me inside and to provide me a key to take a nap as i was tired.

I filled up my details in the entry register only after i was awake after a couple of hours and when the manager of hotel arrived that day. As i was a solo traveller, i preferred a single room which they did not have unfortunately. But the manager in that hotel (Mr. Gangadhar) was so nice that he gave a discounted price on the double room. I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights - 3 days and it was a great time that i had.

I did not have enough food from this hotel as i was at the hotel just to sleep. Rest of the time, i was exploring the town with my camera.

One more interesting fact about this hotel s that , they have a pre designed tour plan which would be much more interesting that you would have thought. Actually, my plan was to visit Belur and Halebid, but the mgr gave me a tour map which had a few more places to which public transport is not available. I personally suggest that you go by this plan which the mgr provides. please ask the reception for the tour map that they have. You have the option of hiring a taxi through the reception itself. To my fortune, there was a guy named Mr Manjunath who drives a Marity Eeco available to show me around for both the days. if you get the same guy, it would be great. Coz, he is a guide himself.

Altogether, i think this is the best hotel in the Belur town that you can spot. If you are reaching Belur too early, please be patient until you wake up the security guard ;)

Have a safe trip,

Vipin

Room Tip: It will be better if you call them up and notify them about your arrival as they can keep the rooms ready for you unlike my case ;)

Very nice hotel located a few blocks away from the bus stand. Staff is extremely friendly, price is reasonable and the rooms are very large and clean. The food at the restaurant was also impeccable (although slightly pricey given the food at the restaurant just a block away is half the price). The hotel is also located steps away from the Channakeshava Temple. The only drawback was that the door to the room was difficult to open (it always did open, though). Other than that, great place to stay at in Belur!

Room Tip: Get a door that opens easily.
