The sculpture and it carving on every piece of stone which has worked on is a masterpiece, there are very few which could be better than the ones here. The hosala style of temple has been taken such great care to design, the architecture is amazing. The is being world heritage center and maintained well to preserve one of the most important work of past.

The only reason for four instead of five stars is unfortunately it is a 3 hour car trip from Mysore. Once there it is a very nice temple to visit for a few reasons. First, the architecture is different than most temples. Second, you can get up close to the carvings and take some really great pictures. It is not a huge site, but it still took an hour to walk through and look at all of the different aspects.

Architectural marvel near Hassan. Belur and halebidu are the two places one should visit while visitng Mysore. One full day is required for seeing these two places. carvings are marvelous. Guides are easily available. Have a guide to know things better.
