On regular car trips between Sydney and Canberra, there is only one plasce to stop for that coffee and food break, the Meridian Cafe at Muralan
After 2 hours in the car, it is a great welcoming cafe.
The coffee is always excellent.
The homemade bread is scrumptious with tart raspberry jam and the sandwiches and light salads make for a delicious stop any time of the day.
The hosts are always chatty and have that knack of remembering the passing parade of customers to make you feel like an old friend.
The cafe opens early, at least by 9.00am but can be shut by 3.00pm and may not open on Tuesdays.
A great must do stop!

We called in for lunch when passing through the area. The menu was not large but the food was very good. The owner and his wife were very pleasant and helpful. The cafe was very clean and well presented. Certainly a place I would recommend to anyone passing that way.

Had one of the tastiest breakfasts ever at this little cafe. Coffee was terrific too and the service came with a smile. Great off the highway stop between Sydney and Canberra. It's worth having a walk around this little town and reading the historical info outside many of the buildings.

We ensure that we stop here each time we are doing the Sydney to Canberra trip and have never had a bad experience. Tasty fresh food, great coffee and clean toilets. Bonus of cheery staff and a relaxing decor. Great place to stop and revive in a peaceful location, flick through the paper or a magazine and then resume the trip. So much better than the truck stops on offer.

Driving home from Canberra back to Sydney and we weren't prepared to pay the outrageous price for breakfast at the hotel we stayed at.

We wanted a cafe that wasn't a truck stop where we could get a good coffee and a very good breakfast. We found it at the Meridian Cafe.

Amazingly friendly people and good selection of breakfast options and attentive service. Breakfast served till 11.30am which was perfect for us.

We had the bacon, egg and cheese roll and toast with coffee and herb tea. Relaxed atmosphere which we enjoyed too.

The lunch menu looked very tempting too.

Reasonable prices and will now be our cafe stop on our trips up and down the highway from now on. So pleased we found this little hidden gem. It is the type of country cafe you always hope to find!
