We stayed here for two nights and the staff made it wonderful. They were very friendly, helpful and attentive, and very easy to get along with. The location itself was amazing; at night you could hear the animals coming out to play. And the meals are so delicious!

This is the perfect place to get away from the bustling Saigon (only a 3 hour drive) and spend one sportive and adventurous week-end with friends.

Despite our late arrival after midnight, we were warmly welcomed by the staff (3 expatriates) that helped us carrying our backpacks and showed us the way from the car to the longhouse (we had to walk 2 km in the night).

We discovered a long house made in bamboo and located in the middle of the forest, in a very quiet place. The longhouse is more comfortable than expected. The single beds are very cozy and have individual mosquito nets. The toilets and showers are very modern and clean every day. There is no air conditioning and we only had one fan for 8 persons. This was the only disadvantage but they told us they will by more fans in the future.

The food prepared by local people was delicious. The breakfast is a must with fresh bread, jam, fruits, noodles and omelets.

This place offers many activities with different level of difficulties. We did the trek to the crocodile lake and that was really demanding but the best part of the week-end. You can also do mountain biking, canoe, swim into the lake.

I highly recommend this place and I am sure I will come back.

My greatest regret about my visit to the Longhouse was that I was only able to stay for two nights as there was a large group booking preventing it from being longer. Funded by the WWF and run by a private outdoor activity company, the Longhouse is located on the edge of Cat Tien National Park, and is an awesome example of a sustainable eco-tourism project in action, providing two local villages with employment, a source of income as all food etc. is sourced locally and helping to support the the national park it sits adjacent to.

The accommodation is great, with comfortable mattresses, good bathroom facilities and excellent local food. The staff are fab, as are the very friendly three resident cats who are likely to join you in your hammock as you rest. George, the young English manager of The Longhouse is very engaging, and offers some great activities in and around Cat Tien National Park. I did a half day and a full day of mountain biking and thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you're considering breaking your journey to/from Saigon at Cat Tien, and like the idea of getting close to nature, I would thoroughly recommend The Longhouse.

We only got to stay in the Longhouse for 2 days but as young, adventurous travellers we found it hard not to love the great food, people (staff) and many activities on offer. It offered a great mix of midst-of-the-jungle-atmosphere with home comforts such as the best breakfast we have had in a while. Was a perfect break from the hectic cities of Vietnam and we would recommend to anyone. Unless you like local 'pho' be prepared to buy 3 meals a day there but when the food is that great who cares? Not us!

Room Tip: There is only one. Fingers crossed your fellow travellers don't snore.

I was only able to spend one night at Ta Lai Longhouse but I had a really nice time... I was a single traveler, traveling via public transit... The staff was helpful with giving me directions and ended up making the journey with me to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) after my stay. A staff member and I spent the day mountain biking and hiking into Cat Tien National Park. It was a great trip... i was full of mud and exhausted, but it was much needed and I really enjoyed it! I just wish I could have had a few more days. The price was more than I had spent on the other parts of my journey, but I would still highly recommend it. Friendly, comfy and clean!

Such a great week end at Tai Lai Longhouse... Thanks to Lykke, Georges and Truc and all the local staffs. So much to do there :-) We went at Tai Lai with my daughters. We did a half day trek, canoe, swim in the lake, mountain bike... and relax...the food is amazing too. The long house is great and bathrooms are very clean and spacious. If you want to enjoy a week end away from the city it is perfect or even a week... we will go back fro sure ;-)

This is a great place to stay if you want to experience the Vietnamese countryside and do some mountain biking/trekking. We emailed the company with dates and they promptly sent us an itinerary of activities, costs and how to get there. Getting there is easy, just get a local bus to Da Lat from Saigon and ask the driver to drop you off at Cat Tien National Park. You are dropped off at the side of the main road and immediately xe-oms (motorcycle taxis) will know where the Ta Lai longhouse is. The food is excellent - loads of Vietnamese dishes prepared by locals, just what you need after a day of mountain biking! The place itself is simple and quiet, the beds are extremely comfortable and they have a fully-functioning western bathroom. We saw loads of animals including: a bat cave, crocodiles, gibbons and many lizards. All the staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were very happy we chose to stay here and I can't wait to go back!
