reserved a room online and requested free airport pick-up, john the owner was there waiting for us, its a a very pleasant 40 minute drive to the resort, the rooms are very pretty and well appointed, the location of the rooms around the pool facing the seafront is superb, the pool area is large and very clean, and has a fun built in jacuzzi, a very substantial breakfast is also included in the room rate, the food is excellent and very reasonably priced, i especially loved the fresh fish but the burgers are a house specialty and are an absolute must, sunday is a great day as many the ex pats from the area descend on the pool area for burger & blues, which means lots of beer, burgers & blues music all in a very relaxed and chilled atmosphere, served by the very friendly staff, john can also arrange all day trips and anything else you may need, and a free transfer back to your port of exit is also included.

Made a late decision to head for Bohol for a quick trip as a group of 6. Email communication with Jon, the owner/operator, was quick efficient and very helpful and accommodating to our needs, both for rooms and a tour.

Very personalised service in an intimate resort setting in a location that suits lounging around the pool and drinking juices or cocktails and catching up on some relaxation time.

Delightful, helpful, cheery staff who have been well trained and will only improve with time as the resort becomes more "bedded in" and their exposure to hospitality and guests needs becomes greater. Food was excellent and the kitchen is brand new and spotless.

The rooms are very, very spacious and very well finished with all the usual amenities. Sleep was great and the resort is very peaceful at night. The resort has been finished to a very high standard for the Philippines and the design and landscaping all lend themselves to a relaxed and informal stay.

If you are looking for a place that is close to nightlife and bars and restaurants then this is not the place for you. It is isolated from all other amenities and resorts and hotels and is on a quiet stretch of the coastline. If however you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, well run, maintained, intimate and discrete boutique style resort to spend some time recharging the batteries then this is the perfect place to do it.

Kayla'a beach resort is well worth your money. It is a lovely, friendly, secluded resort with wonderful food and a familylike staff. They made us feel very welcome and cared for! All of Bohol's sightseeing attractions are within easy reach and arranging for transportation is no trouble at all for Jon and his lovely staff. We very much enjoyed our stay!

I met the owner, Jon Wood, on the boat from Cebu City to Tagbilarin, and we became aquainted instantly. My wife & I had no reservations in Bohol for a place to stay, and we don't care for the big resorts where guests become anonymous and the service is lacking. We decided to stay for one night at Kayla'a and ended up staying for over a week! The staff, food, accomodations and the beautiful scenery were first class as well as the location which is centralized to everything: The Loboc River Cruise, the Tarsiers, the largest snake in captivity, the Old Churches, The Chocolate Hills, and the Adventure Park in Danaou. Also, it was only a quick 45 minute drive along the beautiful coast to get back to the city. Kayla'a offers all the services we needed such as motorcycle rentals, my wife received a great massage, and the local knowledge about customs and culture from the staff. We stayed in a suite which was extremely comfortable, including sat TV, DVD, and a balcony with a breathtaking view. The staff also took care of our laundry. The food was excellent, including the "Blues and Burgers" every Sunday where the guests were treated to great music and real BBQ! The best part of our trip was July 24th which is our wedding anniversary, and Jon gave us a free night stay. To me, this tells me that this resort is different, unique and should be experienced by anyone travelling to Bohol. Incidently, while we were there, Dunkin Donuts used Kayla'a for a big marketing campaign!
