I can really recommend this to couples and friends. A very friendly and serviceminded athmosphere, we were really in good hands.

This was a hotel that was booked for or us by someone I found on the internet so was unsure what to expect, especially since there were very few reviews. Turns out they had closed for over a year and we visited a few weeks after the reopening which was why they hadn't had feedback. Overall, great hotel...as long as you're trying to get away from everything and relax. It was in a very beautiful setting, alongside a vineyard. The layout is sort of U shaped with the center part housing the restaurant. There's a small pool in the center of the courtyard. The rooms are rustic but clean and comfortable. The rooms are fairly large. Not a lot of fancy furniture but that wouldn't have fit into the feel of the place anyway. They had a couple of hammocks set up outside so you could lie back and read a book or take a nap looking out at a vineyard with the Andes as backdrop. At night, Ursula puts out candle-lit lanterns which create this unbelievable ambiance as you're dining, looking out at the candle lit vineyards.

The staff is unbelievably friendly. Ursula greeted us with an afternoon snack and every evening brought us fresh pitchers of water for the room and was really interested in our well being and how to make our stay better...especially since we were new after their reopening. She immediately provided a couple of things we asked about like an electricity converter and a corkscrew. We had the same waitress at the restaurant each night and she was an effusive, charming woman named Italia who wanted to practice English. When she heard we hadn't yet tried the Argentinian tea specialty called mate, she insisted on making it for us. It turns out that is an acquired taste ; ) but we had a lot of fun watching her expression as we tried it. Now I want to figure out how to bring her (or a sister or cousin or someone as nice as she is) to be an au pair for my kids. These people made the hotel feel like a home and made you feel part of it so it seems only natural that I'd want to bring them into our home.

If you're after nightlife and action, this is not the place but if you want a charming little spot with a few other like-minded travelers, a friendly and accommodating staff and a beautiful setting, this is a great find.

The food at the restaurant was excellent...there's a daily menu of the chef's special. You can go out but there's not that much that seemed close by and we didn't have our own car. The meals were fixed price (plus wine) and we didn't ask how much they were. Given the relative price of other meals in Argentina, when we checked out the food was a little pricier than we'd expected but still a bargain compared to what one would pay in the US.

  • Liked — The hammock!
  • Disliked — Pricier than expected dinners

We stayed at this lovely place for five nights and it was a delightful place. The people, location and accomodation far exceeded our expectations. Ursala and Gerald manage the lodge with a warmth and love that was felt the moment we arrived. The food, thanks to Pablo and Diego, was amazing and the lovely gals that helped serve made the meals even more enjoyable. We were traveling with our nine year old son and he was embraced and made to feel very welcome. It is really beyond words. I cried when we left and know we will return some day.

Spent only one day and night here but enjoyed every minute. We have two children, 6 and 11, that were treated wonderfully by staff. Excellent gourmet food, very friendly staff. Wine selection is very good - particularly wines from the Valle.. We stayed in the beautifully restored house. In the morning we went horseback riding, beautiful Andes in the background.
