We visited Our Jungle House to escape Bangkok city life and enjoy nature. The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful and set right alongside a small creek where you can swim/play. The room options vary, but they are all mostly private and built into the nature that surrounds them. They are basic, but clean. You need to understand the hotel is eco friendly and prides itself on the nature around it. The treehouse options are worth the slightly extra cost - many of them overlook the creek/running water (the sounds at night were magical). We stayed in Romance treehouse and were very pleased.
The hotel offers floating tire tubes you can use to float in the river . The river this time of the year had low water level, but still enough running water to keep the water moving (very refreshing). There were 3 jungle trails for hiking that you can complete - right on the property. In addition, You can walk about 15 minutes to the entrance of Khao Sok National Park where you can do more strenuous hiking/trekking (2-3 trail options/waterfall/swimming without a guide & many more options where a guide is necessary). Our Jungle House can arrange any tours for you if you wish (kayaking, trekking, lake trip, etc). There is also plenty to do if you don’t book a tour. The option is there if you want.
The restaurant serves delicious food - every meal was excellent. The local village is unfortunately quiet right now with lack of tourists, but the food at Our Jungle House served everything you could want (mainly Thai food). Everything was perfect - especially Green curry, Penang curry, and Sweet & Sour. We eat vegetarian - there were plenty of veggie options for us - most dishes can be made with tofu!. Breakfast was not included, but this was to reduce waste - just order ala carte in the morning (not expensive).
Khun Gong (General Manager - may have spelt name wrong) and her staff were all lovely! They make you feel very welcome . The occupancy was low right now both at the hotel and the National park - in actuality, it was the prime time to visit and support. You will have the place to yourselves!
