“Great place”
Reviewed February 6, 2014

Stayed at jungle house in January... The place is lovely... Located 15min walk to koh sok village but this distance makes you feel you are in the jungle.
I had some dealings via email with raymie, who was fantastic, providing excellent service and booking us a transfer from surat thani, straight onto a lake cheowlan overnight oasis on the floating rafts (highly recommended) then 2 nights at jungle house..
On arrival we had been upgraded from a river house to the garden house, which was lovely, large and spacious, private balcony and outdoor bathroom.. All very clean and felt new... My only gripe with this bungalow is that it's the closest to the restaurant and everyone walks by to get to it... So at 7am we could here kids running about, and suitcases being pulled down the path... This did wake us early both mornings.
Reception was great, did an error on our bill but amended straight away
Breakfast was good and dinner, great service by the team there...
This is an Eco friendly resort but it doesn't feel like it, standards are high, accommodation is great - you don't miss hot water, tv's or air con... Your in the jungle :)
There is a river beach with some chairs to sit on and relax, a lovely nature trail.
The hotel is a 20min walk from koh sok national park, it has a great walk upto the waterfalls, I can imagine this resort being at its best in the wet season, when the waterfalls are big and the rivers are high... This is when you can do the lake tubing.
Definitely a place I'd recommend for everyone to visit.

We had a great time in Our Jungle House!

The staff was nice and helpfull, the Bungalow (Halfmoon) was a perfect setup for that part of our 3 month trip. Very spacious, and clean...

No TV is not a problem, even for our kids, but some hot water in the bathroom would have been nice :-)

one of the highlights on our travel this far, (Now at Kep Beach House Hotel, Cambodia)

I would have loved the hot water, and a little more variety on the menu, but thats about all...

Room Tip: Halmoon was a good choice, easy access to the river, and still in a distance that noise from the res...

This area was recommended to us by a friend who was traveling through Thailand the year before. They tried to stay at Our Jungle House but it was booked but told us we should try. It was available & I am so glad. We had someone pick us up at the Phuket Airport & everything worked according to plan. The tree houses are stunning - my kids loved sleeping up in the trees with all the sounds of the jungle. They also thought it was great that the bathroom was so open - thank goodness! We were greeted by monkeys in the trees the first morning - what a welcome! The staff was really sweet & the restaurant was great. The main woman that runs the restaurant fawned over my kids & we always had speedy service. The food is very tasty too. I can highly recommend the toast - it is homemade & I swear has coconut milk in it! At one point my kids were called over to get ice cream from a local driver who comes for the kids that live there - what a treat! We went on an elephant trek & the overnight at the lake. Both were excellent however I can't say I would recommend the overnight for younger kids (ours were 10 & 6) - gorgeous but the accommodations are fighting with nature so lots of damaged wood, paths along the water with holes, to get to the bathrooms was a pretty steep climb, etc. The only reason this wasn't a perfect stay was we never had the right information - times for excursions, final bill wasn't correct, etc.
It seems there are a lot of negative reviews about the lack of hot water, the openness of the rooms, the resort being at the end of the road - all of this information is on the website. Not sure why it is a problem for people...

Room Tip: We selected the Half Moon Treehouse because of the bunk beds for my kids. The view of river was exc...

I travelled as a single mum with four children and Our Jungle House was one of the highlights of our month-long holiday in Thailand.

The accommodation was great. Very spacious and clean.

Although it was not a bother for us, some families might want to know that there is no television in the rooms and the showers are cold-water only.

There's free wifi in the reception/restaurant area. The food is great and the staff are very friendly and attentive.

I will definitely return here. Excellent jungle experience (with a little bit of comfort).

Room Tip: All the tree houses are great. You can't go wrong!

Staff are extremely welcoming and genuinely happy to help.
Bungalows were stunning inside and out. The roof has purpose built gaps to the walls so that you truly feel part of the jungle (especially when a hornbill sitting in these gaps wakes you up). Don't worry mosquito nets are provided. fully recommend the lake/dam tour, just stunning.
Essential equipment needed: torch, enclosed shoes, bug repellent, change of clothes for hike and caving tour, long trousers.
Marketed for couples and families however my friend and I loved it and has been our favourite thailand experience so far as backpackers as it's not spoilt by too many tourists.

I stayed here with my partner for 'the fancy' part of our trip.
By fancy i don't mean 5* but just pricey. We paid 1000bht per person per night which is 4-5 times our normal outlay on what was a travelling trip for us, and to have disappointments was, well, disappointing really.
The location is good right near the national park. We had a riverside treehouse which was also very well made and clean too.
In general the whole place is nice.
However, for the money i would expect a shower that worked well. In the heat during summer, i'm happy to have a shower that is cold (which was the only option here) but i do expect water to flow - not just drip out.

My second complaint would be with some of the staff.
We dined in the upstairs bar both nights we stayed but service was dire. The two or three lads that worked their were constantly on their phones playing games or using the internet (which becomes inaccessible v quickly when a few people join) making ordering drinks or food tiresome.
The owner 'Bodh (sorry if miss spelled) tries to put back into the community which is great, though i feel he could do with helping by teaching his own staff some English - as it would be to their and consequently his hotels benefit. Some staff speak very good English, unfortunately the two or three young men we had to communicate with didn't.

We enjoyed our stay, but i wouldn't go back, which for me says it all.

We really loved our stay in "our jungle house". We were in the Mango house. The luxury is that you feel like an adventurer close to the nature. The concert of the bugs and monkeys are awesome and you hear them from one o'clock all night long.everything is very safe. The rooms are basic and clean. The food in the restaurant and the drinks in the bar are very tasty. The stuff is friendly and always try to support you. For all who are afraid of mosquitos...they are just out in the dusk and the best is the off spray with orange sent you can get at the desk. At night you are safe with a mosquito net. I didnt get one bite within four nights. Beside this there were no problem to charge the mobile devices or camera battery. We recommend the "our jungle house" to anyone who wants to experience the jungle in an ecological environment.
