Khao Sok Discovery, which owns the hotel, organized 3 fantastic days / 2 nights for us in order to discover this amazing national park. From the time we were picked up at Krabi airport to the time we were dropped at Don Sak Pier everything was perfect: transport, long tail boat ride, jungle trek, cave visit, delicious thai food, night on a raft house, and a night in the boutique camp which is very luxury considering you are in a tent. I have the most beautiful pictures from my 1-month trip in Asia so far! I would strongly recommend Khao Sok Discovery and Boutique Camps, this is a different experience in Thailand compare to the traditional Pukhet or Koh Samui!

My friend and I stayed at this great location for 2 nights; the tents are comfortable and the views of the surroundings are magnificent. On the morning that we were due to check out we met a director of the company that owns the camp called Pom who advised that the facility had only been operating for 4 months; it has the potential to be an awesome destination. Getting there from Surat Thani was a problem, fortunately we had a relative in ST who was able to speak with the camp staff and get us on the right bus. There was no check in procedure on arrival, however we were greeted with a cold drink (don't know what it was) and shown to our tent. Our dinner on the first night was a bit of a disaster, despite the fact that we were the only ones dining; the tents were not serviced and towels not changed. The camp is a good 15-20 minutes drive from the National Park village where we got dropped off by the mini-van from Surat Thani, ; we were met by Tom, the Jack of all Trades at the camp - he was wonderful. The actual camp was about 10 minutes off the main highway - the entrance is not clearly marked. Once we got to the camp we felt very isolated; there are no one-off activities offered; everything is part of 1,2 or 3 day packages that seem to start at hotels somewhere. It was difficult to converse with the staff as their English was very limited, or non- existent; in spite of this we managed to negotiate a day trip to the lake which was one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in Thailand. Our guide was Tom and inspite of him speaking only about 4 words of English, we had a wonderful day. He is a godsend to that organisation. The camp was unknown to the bus/mini van companies in Surat Thani so maybe some promotion in surrounding areas would help. It would definitely be beneficial to have your own transport if intending to visit this camp; we did suggest to Pom that activities be provided that are not part of a package, or at least provide an option for transport to the village for access to activities that are coordinated from there. We were concerned about how we would get to Krabi from here .. the website indicates that staff will help with this, however with limited English this was difficult. It was kind of a "wait and see what happens on the day" situation. As it turned out Pom took us to Krabi in a private vehicle for 1000 baht which seemed okay if only because it put our minds at rest. Buses or mini-vans would have been much much cheaper but we were unable to communicate our request with the staff. Overall, a wonderful experience and providing the company takes the time to look at and focus on the needs of their clients, will be a successful endeavour.

First of all I would like to say thank you very much for chosen us to serve your holiday and thank you for taking the time to tell us why our service failed to meet your expectations.
We value your feedbacks, and would like to address your concerns as quickly as possible.
I understand your frustration, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we have caused you.
Please know that it is my goal to restore your confidence in our company by solving this problem and preventing it from happening again.

Please note, as the resort is located near the National Park, there is a rules and regulations that will limited in some kind of advertising in the area. So, we only can do a small signboard at the resort entrance (highway 402). But, from this rules and regulations will keep the beauty of nature for all visitors to appreciate it.
Please be informed that one of the resort policies is to employ a local people as many as possible to support the community. And I would like to inform you that we have hired new staff (additional not replace) who can communicate better English to assist and communicate with the guest in the resort. Thanks for your commend!
Regarding to the private 2 hours transfer From Khaosok to Ao Nang, Krabi (approx. 200 KM.) was offered at THB.1,000 with the SUV (Pajero) was a very special offered to 2 ladies as an in-house guest. We are apologized if this make you feel as an over charged. But allow me to explain furthermore, the regular fare of taxi to Krabi is THB.3,000 or a join minivan is THB.450 / person (3 hours and drop off at station) with additional cost THB.100 / person if drop-off at any specific hotel and THB.100 extra for larger size luggage (Ref. http://www.khaosoktrackandtrail.com/index.php/th/khao-sok-transfer). So, I believed the offer of THB.1,000 / trip was the best deal that you can’t get anywhere else.

Thank you again for your honest feedback and I hope this explaination could help you feel better. Hope to have the pleasure of serving you again in the future.

We stayed just one day but I can recommend Discovery as perfect place to take a rest. Very close to main road 401. If you gonna changing location from f.in. Phuket to Surat Thani or Koh Samui is perfect to drop in. Good staff, good prices, internet on the top on the hill - sometimes even in tents. And the view is absolutely fantastic: jungle, hills etc. Nice shop under the hill.

We stayed at this location as a last-minute change of plans. We thought we might stay in a River house nearby but were certainly not disappointed with this camp.
The rooms are tents but with electricity, air-conditioning and running water. The view from the balcony is awesome. Waking up to the sounds of the rainforest is great.
You'll not be disappointed by the restaurant. The views are also good and the food fantastic.

Room Tip: There aren't many but all would be equal. The tents are arranged in pairs so it would be good t...

A few nights ago we stayed at the boutique camp of Khao Sok Discovery the location is amazing the views incredible and the tents are very very comfortable. You have a desk, good beds, even a small fridge and you can make coffee and tea it looks like a very comfortable room but you are in a tent, great stuff my son loved it.
The food was good too we had dinner and breakfast all well done and plenty to eat and the view from the wooden platform is dreamy.
Highly recommend

Room Tip: There are only 6 tents and all look the same
