Having not visited the Radnor Arms for some time we only just got a table as we hadn't booked. We can recommend the Twice Roasted Belly Pork with lovely crunchy pork crackling excellent with its Cider and Apple Sauce, the Lemon Posset with Soft Berries and the gooey Meringue with lashings of fresh cream and Strawberries. The staff as always were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere at this olde worlde Inn is well worth the drive to experience the good food and ambiance.
Next time we shall book to make sure of a table as we would not want to miss out on everything this establishment as to offer.

We drove into the near empty carpark at 12.20, noticing that lunch was due to be served at 12.30. Having ordered our drinks we asked about food and was told that there wasno chance of us eating as the restaurant was fully booked. No alternatives were offered such as a sandwich, and the attitude of the member of staff who spoke to us was surly and indifferent to our needs.

We had Sunday lunch here and felt moved to write a review .The pub and garden are delightful ,with panoramic views from the garden lawns.
The main course arrived promptly and looked very attractive , generous portions with a side of perfect vegetables. What made it really stand out from any previous Sunday lunch was the flavour and seasoning ; every morsel tasted wonderful ! No pretentious swirls , blobs and "jus" but top quality ingredients cooked with exceptional care and skill .All served with pleasant efficiency.
We had to have a dessert !
The posset was a novelty and turned out to be a winner ,creamy lemonyness serves with a summer berry compote .The sticky toffee pudding was light and moist , suffused with different shades of caramel.
It's a shame we live so far away , the locals are privileged to have such a treasure in their midst

We were staying locally so ate at this Inn for two nights. Both evenings the food was generous portions and delicious. The Inn had a nice cosy atmosphere and the staff were very helpful. The menu choice is not vast and by 6.30 pm on the second night 2 dishes were off the menu couldn't quite understand why.

We live in the Hay-on-Wye area and this country pub ticks all the boxes for us. Book for a Sunday lunch and you will enjoy really top class roasts, interesting starters and wonderful home made sweets. A great atmosphere, good wines and beers and always lots of local people dinning. Reasonable prices and top class service. Evenings late in the week are also first class with Percy, the manager always helping to make the evening most enjoyable and again the food is all top quality and is better than you will find in most places in overpriced Hay-on-Wye
