We arrived late evening at Butterfly Farm and received a nice welcome from Karen who had also contacted us in advance to advise us to eat beforehand as there would not be anywhere to eat near them at our expected time of arrival. We were shown to a nice 'apartment' with a lounge area and a separate four poster double bedroom with adjoining shower room. The lounge area was stocked with Tea and Coffee and the fridge with some small welcome snacks and juice which was a nice gesture. We had a great nights sleep and then had a lovely full cooked breakfast and then chatted to Karen and her husband John who gave us sketches and information on the best and most picturesque coastal views and a wildlife conservation area enroute to our next desination (Robe). Our only constructive criticism is that this was the only accommodation that we booked through hotels.com that we did not get a reward point for and it seems it was because they did not take our credit card payment until departure.

Room Tip: You get better value and a more personal service from B&B's away from commercial centres.

Booked online from UK. Within hours had a reply from Karen recommending places to eat before we arrived. Unfortunately she specified from other direction. Not to worry, within minutes of me asking for anything the other side, Karen replied. What customer service and we were still 3 weeks away from visiting!

We arrived a bit late. No problem, hot drinks in our hands within minutes. What a welcome and what a beautiful place.

After a very restful night's sleep (in a 4 poster bed...), the breakfast was great and both Karen and John joined us for a chat. What lovely people. Nothing too much, great advice on what to see down the Great Ocean Road. We were very sorry to have to leave after just one night.

Already looking to return in a couple of year's time and will stay for much longer as there's so much we didn't see in this area. It's in an ideal place to stay and explore the Limestone Coast.

Room Tip: There are only 2 and both are simply stunning. Bedroom, private bathroom and own lounge with TV, fri...

This elegant and welcoming spot was exactly what we needed after a long and windy trip down the ocean road. Great value, beautiful surroundings, private veranda. Thr room itself was small, made for by the attached veranda and common room. We only wish we could have stayed longer. There is a sign on the main road which was essential as we were approaching in the dark and were concerned we had driven too far. We would recommend the butterfly farm with out any hesitancy.

A fine Bead & Breakfast between the Great Ocean Road the Grampions national park.
At arrival we got a warm and personal welcome by Karin.
She advised us to use the meal in the historical "Boggy Creek Pub". Something special.
We spent the evening with Karin and her grandchildren, really cosy.
Our bedroom, the bed and the bathroom were excellent.
The next morning she presented us a breakfast with fresh homemade bread, fruit and soft boiled eggs. What do you need more? A cooked breakfast was also possible.
A must for every passer-by who is looking for a resting point just after the Great Ocean Road!

Imagine a long veranda, a blue-blue sky, yellow fields to the horizon and silence interrupted from time to time by a deep sound of a bird - this is butterfly farm. Imagine a charming house with period features, decorated and furnished to a perfect taste - this is butterfly farm. Imagine cheerful, well travelled people welcoming you. They have collected the best experience from thier travels and they know exactly how to cater to the best standards - these are Karen and John, the owners of butterfly farm. And it doesn't matter that the room is not big and a bathroom isn't ensuite, you even will cope with lack of wifi, because every day a little tray of home cooked treats will appear next to your door and these little touches are precious.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room with private facilities, which meant a walk to the bathroom and a toilet through...

A perfect place to chill, and take time to be spoilt. A big thank you to Karen and John for all the hard work they have done to provide a special place.
It is a little isolated, but that is part of the charm. We could not fault the gorgous facilities provided, and the additional unexpected goodies.
You would not be dissapointed if you choose Butterfly Farm.

We stayed here for one night in suite 1 which is the more private suite out of the two. It was a neat experience staying in a building that was over 100 years old, without forgoing any modern conveniences. Our suite was furnished with period style pieces, along with a four poster bed. Karen was very helpful, giving tips to a nearby cove and printing out and explaining directions to an attraction we expressed interest in. Breakfast was yummy and very filling. The butterfly farm is around 30mins drive from the twelve apostles.
