“Gorgeous views and great food with clean, spacious and comfy rooms”
Reviewed August 1, 2009

We stayed at the Tundra Rose with a group aging from 9 to 79! All the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with board games and books. There was a nice trail behing the Tundra Rose cabin, and the porch had a fantastic view of the Matanuska glacier. Especially recommended was the Grand View Cafe next door (owned by the same family). This was a great experience. Highly recommended!

We were thrilled to have discovered this little gem nestled in the mountains near the Matanuska Glacier! The handcrafted cabins were warm and welcoming and the Dietrich family made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. I loved sitting on our private deck overlooking the glacier ! We would highly recommend this stay for anyone!

Had a wonderful stay at the Tundra Rose! Spacious, clean and comfortable accommodations. Great food close by at the Grandview Cafe. Not to mention a terrific staff and amazing views of the Dall Sheep reserve and the Matanuska Glacier! Can't wait to visit again!

Please note that the Tundra Rose is no longer a B&B, however we still provide the same level of excellence in our cottage rentals.
We offer you complimentary morning beverages in your cottage . We suggest that our guests eat meals at the Grand View Cafe, which is within walking distance.

This was the most lovely cabin we stayed in. Amazing attention to detail made for a lovely stay. We initially planned to stay just for 2 nights and ended up extending our stay with another night here. The view is amazing and it is just a lovely cabin to relax for a few days after the end of a long and tiring trip through Alaska. It has all that Alaska has to offer on your doorstep and the cabin is absolutely gorgeous. Staff friendly too and 2 places for dinner close by. Please note that apart from a microwave there are no cooking facilities in these cabins! (Luckily when we arrived with our steaks, the owner kindly sorted out a little BBQ for us, so we could still celebrate our anniversary in glorious september sunshine with a lovely juicy steake cooked to perfection on our own terrace with what must be one of the best views in the world.
Definately recommend this one for a few nights if you have time in your itinerary!

We had a great stay at this very cute cottage. The units are divided into cottages, and meals are served (for a separate fee) at the next door Grandview Cafe. The food there was definitely better than we thought we would be able to find in this area. The cottages are cute and clean. The rooms are a good size, as are the bathrooms. The view from our windows and deck were absolutely amazing, though!

While travelling the Glen Highway in Alaska on Vacation we happened across the Tundra Rose Bed and Breakfast. What a treasure! We were warmly welcomed and couldn't have asked for nicer accomodations. A wonderful setting overlooking the Matanuska Glacier, surrounded by snowtopped mountains, and a Dall Sheep Preserve literally in our backyard! Everything a couple from Idaho could ask for in a vacation to Alaska! We can't wait to go again!
