A perfect place for couples to relax. We felt bad that we couldn't stay longer.

Great views. Hot tub was extra ordinary!!!!

It's close to the Matanuska Glacier. There are a lot of activities close by.

We had such a wonderful time staying here. The tents were amazing. The view was incredible. We did a glacier hike with MICA and it was wonderful. Mandy and her whole staff were great. Our glacier guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. We highly recommend the tents and MICA!

We stayed at Alpenglow following an epic drive on the Denali Highway. After a day filled with so many amazing sights, mountain after mountain, glacier after glacier, we were relaly looking forward to a relaxing evening and Alpenglow did not disappoint. The view of the Matanuska, and teh surrounding mountains, and, eventually, sunset, was phenomenal. The tents are private and had a stellar view. The bed was inordinately comfortable, and so warm thatwe were able to keep the canvas doors of the tent open to enjoy the view as we fell asleep and woke up the next morning. We picked up a delicious dinner to go from nearby Sheep Mountain Lodge, although we could have cooked out on the fire pit at Alpenglow, and ate it at the picnic tables. afterwards, we enjoyed wine in the cedar hot tub. A moose walked past our dinner table. The sun made a gorgeous late evening setting. Other guests played cornhole and cooked smores, but all was so private and perfect. Mandy couldn't have been more welcoming. There are flushing toilets up the hill but the outhouse is closer and was clean and well kept - smell free. Breakfast the next morning was simple but delicious - Mandy should sell that homemade blueberry granola by the bag for hungry roadtrippers - it was amazing. They make it easy to get on any of the great MICA excursions on the glacier and nearby and you can just hike around and enjoy the views yourself. There's no internet - part of the beauty of the location. If you are traveling along the Glenn highway, or even looking for a night away from Anchorage, I highly recommend spending at least one night here - you will not regret it.

My sister and I were out exploring Alaska and wanted to have a more adventurous experience while we were there. We looked at places to stay that weren’t just a typical boring (and often overpriced) hotel. We came across Alpenglow and booked it instantly! The unplugged experience was great if you’re up for it. The tents are luxurious and beautifully crafted with amazing views. There are only 3 tents so the community is quiet and not crowded at all. The hot tub is small, but if you don’t mind sharing with others it’s great. The outhouse is as clean as one can be. Breakfast was light and simple, but had some nice touches. The common areas are gorgeous with cornhole, games, and a fire pit available. If you’re looking for a unique place to stay near the glacier, then this is the spot. Also check out the MICA guides and their tours while you’re there.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review! Glad you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed having a unique stay at Alpenglow Luxury Camping. I try hard to mix rustic and comfort with our cozy beds and canvas tents, and the off grid kitchen and common area. Thanks for coming out and hope to see you again!
