“Simply Superb”
Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

A very charming and welcoming location.
The room was immaculate and the bedding traditional and comfortable.
Wifi was free and a good strong signal for those that need to keep in touch.
The ensuite had lovely towels and it was clean and bright.
The food was also commended with a good choice and large portions.
Very helpful and friendly service fromtthoughtful staff.
We couldn't fault it and for anyone looking to stay in the area, give the Angler's serious consideration. It's close to the A1 and Alnwick too.

We stopped at the Anglers Arms for an impromptu lunch and were absolutely delighted that we had. Fantastic atmosphere, great friendly service and the food was truly excellent. Can't recommend highly enough - family and dog friendly as well.

A small Pub/Hotel in a lovely spot by the river. Comfortable rooms and tasty food in the bar or restaurant. The menu has a wide choice and is reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Close to Cragside. Well worth a visit.

Me and my wife stayed for a couple of days at this Inn. The staff made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. Food and drink was excellent and prices reasonable. As we were visiting Cragside Hall, Alnwick Caste, Bamburgh and Sea Houses this was superb base.
Very enjoyable and will going again.

Room Tip: All romms clean and tidy but room 7 was a bit small

The Anglers Arms was recommended by the B&B that we stayed at (Lee Farm nr Rothbury - also excellent) for our evening meal.

We visited twice during our weekend break (I would have gladly gone back for a third time!) Great food, a very friendly welcome and some very well-kept beers too.

The food was reasonably priced, service was fantastic and the quality couldn't be faulted.

The bar food was is excellent and locals travel from nearby villages to eat here. Breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from, overall an excellent place, all credit to staff we will be returning again.

Stayed here for two nights with my girlfriend. our room was more like a studio with a very large living room, seperate spacious bedroom and a spiral staircase down to the very nicely appointed shower room which had obviously just recently been refurbished to a very high standard. we were warned that there was scaffolding on the outside of the building as even more improvement work is being carried out but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the place. we ate in the pub both nights and the food is of a very high standard and very reasonable for the quality along with reasonably priced wine too. the breakfasts are really quite excellent and set you up for the day if you choose the full English option. It is in a good position to visit the Northumbrian coast villages like Bamburgh and Seahouses, Beadnell and Amble where we enjoyed some fantastic Fish and chips from the Harbour View chippy.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Anglers again with very friendly staff a good atmosphere and some lovely real ales to boot :)
