Wow. It was our first camping trip and what a place to stay.

Really well located site - perfect for exploring the wall. About 10 minute walk to the wall itself - stunning location.

The site itself was quiet at night and the showers/toilets were spotless. Will be staying again soon, a real gem

Me and my wife went there last weekend and we found it very charming and very peaceful and the Staff very welcoming and pointed out the facilities on site.
We stayed on the top pitch which is named Everest which has beautiful views and even more beautiful at sunset.
Considering that we only live 40 minutes away from this site we are very lucky to have this on our doorstep and we shall be using this site alot due to the fantastic facilities and the beautiful area surrounding the site.
I strongly recommend this site to other people...

Thanks again Steve and Lynne for a peaceful weekend :)

Just got back from meeting an old mate, with the 2 kids! Staff were amazing, site was very clean, facilities were top notch. This is one of the best campsites I have ever stayed at, we stayed in the bunk barn, which the kids loved. Be back next year, all I can say is go, you won't look back! The breakfast was awesome also, happy days!!

Folks, don't believe the pics you see on the website showing the bunkbarn, you have no where to sit, and the only place to cook is right outside your room, in the corridor between your room and the next room you have 1 microwave and 2 burners there are no surfaces to prepare sandwhich's etc.. beware!!

We have just returned from a stay at this site whilst walking Hadrians wall, and all I can say is, don't bother looking at any of the other sites in this area. From the minute of our arrival we were made welcome, shown around all the clean and modern facilities, and shown where to find any information we might need for attractions and food in the area. Our tent pitch was high on top with a lovely view on a level area. I believe all camping areas are terraced to ensure they are as flat as possible. For Backpackers walking the wall, the AD122 bus, will stop at the top of the road, for transport to any part of Hadrians wall between Carlisle and Newcastle.

We liked it so much we intend to return in August

PRO'S:- Nice terraced flat camping areas
Very helpful staff (Lynn and Steve)
Exellent location (3/4 mile from Center section of Hadrians wall)
The best breakfast in the area (Lynn used to be a cook in a 5 star restaurant)
Full very clean and modern facilities
AD122 Bus will stop at the top of the road
Con's:-
NONE

Myself, husband and 3 dogs have now stayed at this site twice, once this year and last and we are planning to return in the next couple of weeks due to the staff and location. On our arrival the second stay it was the first outing for a rather bigger caravan and my husband was slightly worried about parking it up, no problems as the warden( sorry i don't your name, Lynnes partner!!) jumped in the drivers seats and did all the hard work for us, thank you again.Once on the site you can walk straight from it onto the main walks of Hadrian's wall just a few minutes up the road and when you return after a long day of walking you can nip and see Lynne in the shop and buy a lovely big piece of home made lemon drizzle cake or victoria sponge whichever takes your fancy( both delicious!), She also had all our washing dry for us on our return one day from walking to save us a job on our return.Site itself is very clean, has 360 beautiful views and always has plenty hot water for showers, washing up, etc, plus hairdryer in ladies wash room which is a real bonus as it saves you having to bring your own. I can't wait to return and would recommend this site to everybody.
