Visited the museum as part of our trip to the village at war at Stoke Bruerne, (which is a really good weekend with lots to see and do). the museum is right by the canal with a cafe which serves nice coffee while you relax by the canal, its on a couple of floors with lots of interesting displays and memorabilia, really need to read the info and study the exhibits then you will understand what a harsh life working boats had. Shop downstairs selling some tat but a really good selection of maps guides etc. Very good place to visit on a sunny afternoon

What a wonderful place, very interesting and when you have finished at the museum you can then watch the world go by sitting outside of the Boat inn or take a boat trip up the canal. In one word, Beautiful.

If you want to sit and watch the canal boats go by, then this place is for you. If you feel like a walk then there is a path along the canal. Friendly staff, and locals who pop in whilst moored up.
