We arrived at the Fox after spending the morning at Hinton airfield & were immediatly welcome & given th ekey to one of the rooms in the converted barn adjacent to the pub. The room kept it's olde worlde charm with it's wooden beams & original thick walls & windows but with more modern additions to the windows. The fittings & fixtures were surprisingly modern with plenty of facilities for any disabled guests (wide sliding door to th eensuite, rails etc) & the rooms were very comfortable & very clean. The tea/coffee tray was also very welcome with biscuits & a cafetiere for the fresh coffe rather than just the usually supplied instant version. We had our evening meal in the pub & were very impressed with the choice & quality of the food. We had noticed when we booked that the breakfast was a continental one but the breakfast basket that we found on our bed on our return to the room was exceedingly generous, containing 2 jars of cereal, apples, oranges, orange juice , 4 lovely fresh croissants with jam etc & 2 thermos flasks of fresh milk.
The pub itself was very warm & welcoming, having an lovely stone open fire & christmas tree during our visit. The staff were lovely & welcoming & treated us as well as they treated thier local regulars who dropped in.
Definately a place I would book again if I ever needed a room in the area.
