We were recommended to try this hotel by the tourist office in Fraserburgh, and the people in the Fraserburgh Heritage Centre voiced their approval when they heard where we were planning to stay for the night before going on to Grantown. Spacious room, comfortable bed, and a bar with a selection of malts - what could be better? The menu was brief but inventive - so much better than the vast tomes sometimes presented. The locality of the ingredients was a prominent feature.Breakfast was equally excellent though the saltiness of the scrambled egg with smoked salmon could have been considered excessive by some, and putting less in with the individual option to add more might be worth a shot. However this is a minor quibble, as is the rather coy attempt to write the menu in a faux Rob Roy accent for the benefit, no doubt, of Sassenachs . Minor points which did not detract from the overall pleasure of this sound recommendation.

Wonderful place. Fantastic food, great choice of home-made dishes with fresh local ingredients, produced by owner Norman. Super friendly and efficient staff under the management of owner Colin. Highly recommend a visit to the Pitsligo Arms, you will need to book as they are tremedously busy.

Went there with good friends, we were in the snug room, had a ball and some of the best food around. Staff could not do enough for us and their banter was great. That's what it's all about. Will definitely be booking again, best around by far.

I work all over the country and stay in a lot of hotels but I have never been treated as well as I was here. the whole hotel is finished to the very highest standard and the food was excellent. The staff are very attentive and friendly it was like being at home.

We stopped there for dinner, bed and breakfast. There is a lovely bar for predinner drinks and the meal itself was very tasty and well presented. Attentive service. The room was clean, comfortable and fresh. Would recommend disposable shower caps for us ladies but apart from that felt the experience to be a real treat.

We had the pleasure of a short visit last week staying for 2 nights and have no hesitation in providing a very positive recommendation . The room was clean and well appointed . We had dinner both evenings and were in no way disappointed . It was good quality, well presented food . Given that it was extremely busy with other satisfied diners if you are staying over make sure you book to avoid disappointment . Colin,Norman and all their staff can't do enough to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible . It may have been our first visit but it won't be our last ! Thanks for everything .

Had heard great things about this restaurant so decided to book. On arrival we received a warm welcome and speedy service. Restaurant was clean and well presented however the food was extremely poor! Menu would be difficult for someone not local to read and it was very basic, went for scampi which it stated was from a local well known supplier which I strongly doubt! Have had better scampi from local DIY Centre at lunch, It was so poor that we left after having two mouthfuls. Will not be returning.

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your meal with us... We can assure you that our Scampi tail does come from a reputable local Seafood company although you feel otherwise. We are not aware of any complaints being made at the time in relation to this which is unfortunate as we may have been able to investigate fully as to why you felt your meal was not up to our high standard of Food production - and perhaps been able to remedy.
