“Genuinely wonderful !”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

We booked a night here very last minute as a quick get away. I had seen the good reviews. We were given such a lovely friendly greeting and nothing was too much bother. Lovely friendly warm bar and terrific restaurant space. Incredible views from every window and light pouring in.
Beautiful room and good free wifi. Plenty pillows, plenty towels, loved the under floor heating.
Free bottled water and biscuits (surprised how many charge these days) great TV reception.

And then the breakfast ... Wow wee !! Nothing too much trouble. Endless topups. Giant proper full breakfast and delicious local sausages and free range eggs.
So much is good about the craven arms ! We will go back.

Room Tip: Our room was the special double in t he old barn. High beamed ceiling. The road is near but quiet at...

We went to this hotel back in October 2013, to book a room for June this year for our daughter's Leavers Ball. We booked the date in person, and very early, as there are not a lot of hotels In walking distance of the school. We were assured that we could have any room, as we were at that moment the only booking they had. We then followed this up 2 months later with a phone call as we had had no email or written confirmation. I confirmed the reservation, again over the phone, and gave my credit card details to confirm the booking. We have just now received an email saying they have had some problems with their booking system and we do not have a booking with them! Unbelievable! We now cannot book a hotel near the school, as they are all full for that date. We are absolutely disgusted with their treatment of us, and extremely upset.

We chose the Craven Arms as a budget base to visit the Dales and how pleased we were with our choice. The room, while not perfect, was very clean and the bed comfortable. A moan from my better half was that there was not enough hangers or surfaces to put out her stuff ! Not sure what stuff she meant, I found room for my satnav, phone and iPad.
Any shortcomings in the room were more than made up for by the very friendly service and what I can only describe as first rate quality food that we enjoyed at each meal ! Pub food at its best.
If your looking for value for money accommodation in this lovely part of the UK then the Craven Arms fits the bill by some way.

Room Tip: Some road noise unavoidable due to the position of the pub but much quieter late on.

A group of twelve of us stayed here for the weekend, received a lovely welcome, were served some excellent ales, superb food, both breakfasts and evening meals, had a very tasty packed lunch supplied and were sad to leave.

Room Tip: Choose a good room? Then stay here!

Craven Arms was a good base for our walking weekend in the Yorkshire Dales. Nick and the staff could not do enough for us, they were FANTASTIC. Great food, great beer, great weekend. Ideal also for the Settle Carlisle railway.

Having spent two nights at the craven Arms inbetween hiking I'd heartily recommend it. Comfy rooms, a warm welcome, a willingness to provide us packed food for our walks and excellent grub with friendly service on the night. They couldn't do enough. Well done all

This was our second visit to the craven arms and it won't be our last. We stayed in room six witch is a large clean room with large bed. We ate at the pub in the evening and found the food to be really good quality at reasonable price. We found the breakfast in the morning to be one of the best we have had. This is a great place in good location and friendly staff
