We took our young bouncy dog and he loved walking in the field every morning off the lead. There is immediate access to lovely walks and A very short stroll over the river sees you in town - Settle. We will definitely be going back! Wonderful kitchen and wonderful pubs nearby with great food. Also dog friendly! We had a great time!
Carol, the owner, could not have been more helpful or welcoming. The cottage is cosy and well-appointed, combining homeliness with functionality, especially if you take your dog; indeed, the whole area is geared up for dog-owners with a number of good dog-friendly pubs and tea-rooms. The back yard of the cottage is small but there is an adjacent field very nearby. Would certainly rebook if and when returning to the area.
Wonderfully located right next to the beck in the charming village of Giggleswick, it is a real home-from-home very dog friendly Yorkshire cottage with an ultra modern kitchen extension fitted out with everything, just everything! yet it still manages to retain its comfort and cosiness..... probably helped by the underfloor heating and magnificent stove burner. The village is lovely, such friendly people, and there are many easy places to walk the dog including a short, pretty walk into Settle, made prettier when we visited because of the snowfall which I feel sure was arranged by Carol, the owner of Sunnybeck Cottage, for our pleasure. Do make the train journey from Settle to Carlisle if you can, the views are worth it and if you can book a few days in advance the ticket prices are a little cheaper. Dogs travel free Great holiday. Would be more than happy to return. Am now saving up to install underfloor heating at home.
Location was peaceful next to a brook, but close to amenities within walking distance.
Good foodie places to eat a few minutes walk away in the village, Harts Head, great atmosphere, food & drink ! would highly recommend. Great walking in the area & stunning views along the Settle to Appleby railway line with views of the 3 peaks & the stunning Viaduct. Carol the owner was amazingly informative & helpful on our arrival our stay was relaxing, enjoyable, and extremely cosy especially infront of the fire in the evenings!
The cottage was exceptionally well appointed, with every comfort covered. It was very warm and welcoming which was great because it was freezing outside. Luckily for us the ground was frozen in the adjacent field where we walked our dog otherwise it would have been soggy. The village was lovely, the people were very friendly. The pub, the White Hart was extremely welcoming, people were welcoming to us humans and our dog. The town of Settle was very dog friendly, as were the pubs and cafes, And of course the whole Malham area and the Yorkshire Dales are stunning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sunnybeck Cottage, it was was equipped with everything you needed. And of course it was dog friendly. Thank you Carol and Steve, excellent hosts.
Excellent stay in a modern well equiped dog friendly cottage in easy walking distance to pubs and a 5 min drive to Seattle.
Stayed two nights in this lovely cottage with another couple and had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed meeting Carol who greeted us when we arrived, and showed us around and explained the heating, how to work the fire etc. She also helped us with local info and pub recommendations which was very useful. The whole cottage has been done to a high specification, has a fully stocked kitchen, good quality furniture. and fantastic showers!
The welcome basket with bread, biscuits, croissants, juice and milk was a lovely touch and completely unexpected
I would highly recommend Sunnybeck to any future visitors.
