Lovely location and picture postcard house. The Alpacas were a surprise. The owners have extensively remodelled the garden since these photos were uploaded. Breakfast at the time you specify and delicious.

This is the first review I have wrote, I have decided to write this review because we use reviews to search our holidays but don't seem to write reviews ( for one reason or another ) we enjoyed our stay so much and was made more welcome than anyone could hope for that I wanted to write a review for the owners benefit and so others could enjoy this holiday as we did.

We usually opt for luxury modern hotels but with this being the dales we decided to go for a more traditional place and we got more than we hoped for from this holiday, the cottage is very homely, very clean, not the most modern but yet modern enough ( when we want modern we head for London etc. not the dales), the location is excellent with great views.

We rented two cottages for our number, the best cottage is 'The Granary' in my opinion and that is the cottage we will be booking next year.

We stayed with our family, ages 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 22, 26, 30, 47 and all ages enjoyed the stay, we decided we wanted a relaxing holiday with abit of exploring aswel, we had bbq's, used the horse riding which is literally over the fence, played family games in our cottage, made swings, played football, dined in, dined out....bit's of all sorts.

THE BREAKFAST was one of, if not the best breakfast I have had in my 30 years on this earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hosts, Sarah and Stewart are genuinely two of the best hosts you will ever meet, before writing this review I decided to read some and noted that the 1 bad review seems to be the previous owners as the name is different and the fact that speaking to Sarah it is apparent they have been there 1 year now and the review was way before their time so DO NOT let that review sway you, Sarah and Stewart I'm sure will be great hosts.

The pictures on the website don't actually do the place justice and in 'real life' they place is even nicer!!!

A thankyou to Sarah and Stewart!

To the person reading this review if what we did sounds like the type of holiday you are looking for then simply book and look forward to the holiday!

Oh and the dog enjoyed her stay aswel!

Firstly may I say that I haven't been made to feel as welcome in any establishment as we were here. It was so nice to be greeted by friendly, laid-back people. Sarah & Stewart Wilson were the perfect hosts!
We stayed at Dukes Place with quite a few members of my family as my niece was getting married in Bishop Thornton. We were too late to get B&B so were offered a cottage instead.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and cosy and the beds were also very comfortable! The breakfast was out of this world with a wide variety of choices.
The location is spectacular with lovely views. It was idyllic! It is an ideal place to stay for visits to Knaresbrough, Ripon, Ripley and Harrogate.
We would definitely consider visiting Dukes Place again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and would thoroughly recommended it. The breakfast was lovely, the room cosy and the atmosphere laid back and welcoming. I would come back, no doubt about it.

Stayed at this excellent B and B over last weekend; what a treat. The room was large, spotless and comfortable. A comprehensive and wholesome breakfast, well cooked and presented. They even have alpacas! They also do self-catering. (the owners not the alpacas)
The owners Stuart and Sarah are the perfect hosts full of local knowledge. You are within walking distance of a good pub with grub, Harrogate itself and the marvellous Fountains Abbey.
WE WILL BE BACK..

We had a wonderful weekend in Yorkshire. We were warmly welcomed, given a pot of tea and biscuits in our room which was perfect after a 5 hour journey. The accommodation was excellent - we had the best nights sleep we'd had in ages - must have been the fresh country air! Breakfast was amazing - nothing was too much trouble and was a family afair - son and girlfriend being roped in to help on the morning to ensure a seemless and relaxing breakfast. We would highly recommend Duke's Place.

We have just come back from a great weekend break, made perfect by Sarah at Dukes Place. Nothing was too much trouble- from fresh milk to go with the Decaf tea in our bedroom, to the best cooked breakfast we have had in ages, set up in the living room, so that we and our friends could have breakfast on our own. The rooms are large and comfortable, with not only tea and coffee making facilities, but also a small bottle of wine and glasses, just in case. It has a super location, with lovely views, and plenty of places to sit in the garden, and watch the alpacas, and the horses in the riding stables next door. Close to Ripley Castle, and the Boars Head, for a great day out, or of course Harrogate or York.
