“Good location ”
Reviewed May 14, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We go away as an extended family each year and have rated this house compared to the last few years. The location is great with it being just opposite a lovely local pub.
The property itself could do with some updating, but it was clean and loads of kitchen equipment and crockery.
It's not clear in the description but the house does not have a garden other than a couple of metres leading up to the front door. However, there is a park right next door which our boys loved.
Dogs are welcome but there is no sign (or smell) of this do non dog owners should not be put off.

Many thanks Nick
Pleased you had a lovely weekend in The Old School House.
The garden, as stated in the details , is small (just over 30sq m ) and dog and child safe with railings and secure gate .It overlooks the village pond so you can watch the ducks and moorhens and maybe even see a fisherman catching one of the large carp.
In the summer there is garden furniture so you can eat alfresco if you wish.

What a lovely setting for a house that caters really well for 5 adults. A large lounge was ideal to relax in after a long day visiting areas of Norfolk, and although we never got to use the log burning stove, I can imagine that it would be great on those colder evenings to add o the charm of the place. Would love to visit again.

“Excellent home for a family trip”

We booked the old school house for the weekend and it was lovely. The bedrooms are so comfortable and downstairs there is a big kitchen with a long table for the whole family to sit round and drink too much wine. The living room is a really comfortable space with a big fireplace so although we went in summer I am sure it would be great in winter as well. The owners are lovely and they live right next door. They were very kind and let us bring our dog as he is very well behaved and doesn't like being left behind!

“Wow”

What a peaceful and gorgeous house, Ian and Debbie are the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome.
The house was huge and totally big enough for the six of us, the view is lovely, and such a great area in Norfolk for sight seeing, we will be coming back as we didn't have enough time to see some of those sights.

Again, lovely house and lovely hosts.

Thanks for having us.

“WOW WOW WOW”
Reviewed November 4, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Those people who have had anything to complain about this property must have nothing better to do or need to complain for the sake of it!!

On arrival you are greeted by the lovely couple who rent this property out and they even leave some lovely home made scones for your delectation (well they did for the rest of the family as they got there 1st and scoffed the lot but were told on numerous occasions how nice they were )
The house is spotless and just everything you would want for a rental holiday home very spacious there was 6 of us and also 3 dogs.
You have a pub across the road (George & Dragon) which I highly recommend (See tripadvisor write up) which is very nice indeed if you don't fancy cooking in the vast kitchen diner area. If you fancy anything else you will need a car unless you like very long walks
If you are into fishing then the pond out the front is a great confidence booster as its stuffed full of carp and they are extremely easy to catch. Its only a couple of foot deep and you don't need any special tackle or bait to catch them.

“Spot on for a birthday celebration”
Reviewed October 5, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I rented this fine building for a surprise family birthday get together. There were six adults and two small children. The setting was typically English with the property lying at the centre of the village adjacent to the pond, complete with waterfowl and anglers. Across the pond was the parish church and nearby the Inn. All very neat and tidy. Occasionally a few moos and bleats were heard from one of the nearby farms.
The house accommodation comprised a large ground floor reception room complete with wood burning stove and two comfortable settees, plus a spacious and well equipped kitchen, larder and W.C. The first floor contained four double bedrooms, suitable for eight adults and two children. One bedroom had an en-suite shower / W.C. and there was a decent sized bathroom / W.C. to serve the other bedrooms.
Outside there was a sitting area by the front entrance and to the rear of the property were sited the fuel and garbage facilities. Meals could be taken in the kitchen at the large farmhouse style table surrounded by many chairs. A high chair was also available.
The owners, who live nearby were a most charming couple and ready to assist as and when needed. Unfortunately, one of the beds was found to be uncomfortable, and I reported this to the owner upon leaving. By the time that I had returned to my home an e-mail informed me of the purchase of a new bed unit. There are two lessons to be learnt here; firstly landlords should actually spend time with the furniture and fittings within their property and secondly, guests should not be shy of pointing out where improvements may enhance the status of both the property as well as that of its owner.
In conclusion, I am sure that if I returned now the experience would without doubt earn that extra dot for an excellent rating.

Really pleased the surprise party was a great success. The house is ideal for family celebrations with the spacious lounge and big dining table. Many thanks for your feedback, we always try to make all our guests very welcome and comfortable.
Surprised by the comment about the TV as it is a 40in thin screen JVC TV bought new only a few month ago.
