We stayed at Noosa sound for my husbands birthday weekend and found it to be a wonderful setting being surrounded by wildlife habitat. The cottage itself is comfortable and very well equipped and considering it was snowing outside for some of our stay the heating was very effective!!! It is surrounded by water with the river on one side and a lagoon on the other. From the cottage we watched a whole variety of bird life and we are told that from time to time an otter can be seen in the lagoon though we weren't lucky enough to see it ourselves. The village of Horning is within easy walking distance and contains a good pub and superb fish restaurant. We would be pleased to recommend this holiday cottage to anybody.

From our first contact with owner Val, the ' Noosa Sound' experience was excellent. The single storey lodge is very clean and well organised and has everything required for a comfortable stay. The setting is private, almost surrounded by water and sheltered by many mature trees. The constant parade of wildlife is utterly absorbing. Most of our ' places to go' list was not accomplished, as we succumbed to Norfolk time. The village amenities are good, great deli, friendly post office and good pub food. We will be going back.

This is our 2nd visit to this lovely cottage. It is so well equipped and comfortable - it really does feel like home from home. The owners are very helpful and friendly in their email communications and everything was spotless on arrival. The setting is so peaceful and is ideal if you want to 'get away from it all'. The village is just a short walk down the road and has two good pubs which both do lovely food. The deli in the village is a little pricey but the food/drinks are top quality, there is a gift section out the back and the staff very helpful. Pop into the Lavender and Lace small shop for unique gifts and the lady in there is lovely. We go to the broads most years on a boat and always drop in to Horning and Wroxham as both villages are great to visit.
We will definitely be returning to Noosa soon.

We were fortunate to enjoy a week at Noosa Sound during a lovely sunny week in August. The location is quiet but close to a few local shops and eateries. We only had one disappointing meal and that was at The Swan -the food was very poor and the service was dreadful.
The cottage is hidden away and is directly situated on the banks of the River Bure.
You can park your car beneath the car port which is about 25 yds from the cottage .The cottage is well presented .The kitchen is of a good size with all mod cons and a dining table which overlooks a lake. The lounge has a fantastic view over the gardens, patio and the river. Those who enjoy watching wildlife will be in their element. We saw herons ,kingfishers, coots and ducks -it was fascinating.
The cottage has private fishing rights .
My husband took his fishing tackle and enjoyed casting for roach, perch, bream and pike.
I was also tempted to "have a go too" and to my amazement within a couple of minutes I caught a frisky pike which nearly pulled me into the river !
We had a trip on the broads on the ShowBoat which you can board in the village. It was a very pleasant journey and the staff were helpful and informative.
We went to the coast and visited Wells Next the sea where we enjoyed fish and chips on the quayside whilst watching youngsters trying to catch crabs.
Mobile phone signal was poor until we were near Wroxham which is a few miles from Horning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Noosa Sound .It is possibly the best holiday that we have had in England and would not hesitate to return.
