“Horning Ferry Marina Lodge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

We stayed at Horning Ferry Marina for the first time earlier this year and have just returned from our third long weekend break there. The service is always very friendly and helpful whilst the standard of accomodation is very good for the cost involved. Our lodge had a lovely view across the marina and was well equipped. There is a nice holiday atmosphere about the place, with a good coffee shop/swimming pool on site and a nearby riverside pub/restaurant. Horning is in my view the best village to stay on the Norfolk Broads - I would particularly recommend the Seafood restaurant which is excellent.

Wow, what a fantastic house, all enjoyed by our family celebration. Totally relaxing looking at the views and having glorious weather in October. We all loved the house where we all could enjoy cooking, eating and enjoying fishing on the decking below whilst happily being greeted by the ducks. We cant wait to go again.

Took the wife and her mother and her mother's sister to Norfolk for a short break. We had lovely weather, sunny for all the days and the lodge was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't fault the accommodation. We were lucky that Marina Lodge was on the end of the row and the next door lodge was not occupied. I think that as the walls were very thin, it might have been a slightly different experience if there were noisey neighbours.

The stroll into the nearest pub, the Ferry Inn is easy and I spent a good few hours wasting the time watching the boats come and go all helped by a fine pint of Young's bitter.

We hired a day boat from the Marina, the same company and was given instructions on how to drive etc, although I was already experienced, and had a pleasant trip up the river to Wroxham and back. Unfortunately although we had hired the boat for the day, there just wasn't enough time to explore the easterly part of the river from Horning.

There are plenty of pubs/restaurants around, the Ferry Inn is well within walking distance and served the normal pub grub, although we didn't eat there, we had two great meals in The Swan in Horning and one in the fish restaurant over the bridge at Wroxham.

Breakfast on the last day was had at the New Inn, just down the road, but just a bit too far for the elderlies to walk to.

I look forward to going again, and would certainly recommend the Ferry Marina as the facilities catered for young and old alike.

Room Tip: Go for one on the end as the walls seemed a bit thin so could be a problem with noisey neighbours.

We have just returned from an excellent weeks holiday at the Ferry Marina Horning. The lodges have always been clean and tidy .At the Marina there is a good Fish and Chip shop as well as aSwimming Pool.
In Horning ,only a short walk away there are three or four pubs which serve goog quality food.and also f few small shops..
If you want to travel further afield you have Wroxham and Potter Heigham both only four or five miles away, both with well known store names, with many of the bus tours calling at both.Further a field you have the big city of Norwich with its castle and cathedral or smaller towns of Great Y
Yarmouth and Lowestoft with all three helpful to Disabled oeople with their scooters.

Just returned from from a lovely Hoilday , we stayed in the marina loft it was very clean and spacious. The location was prefect to visit all local attractions with the added advantage of being on the broads ! The views from our balcony were lovey and it was very peaceful , we will be coming back to stay here again !

Ideal location , very clean , good size rooms , very high standard of fittings
Ideal as we were 3 different generations each with en suite
Only drawback was the noise from the wooden fllor in the lounge
But would book again despite that

Just returned from our holiday at Ferry Marina. We stayed in Marina View which was a beautiful spacious and clean property. The fixtures and fittings were of a high standard and very clean. The view from the bedroom balcony was lovely to wake up to and it was very relaxing sat in the garden behind the property with lovely views. We were able to fish from the property garden and the grassed area was lovely for the kids. We used the pool at Ferry Marina and were a little disappointed at the price we had to pay given the cost of our property, the last time we visited it was free if you had hired a property. The Ferry Inn was very friendly and the food was fantastic. This is the second time we have been to Ferry Marina and we will be going again, a lovely relaxing place with beautiful surroundings.
