This is an excellent place to stay, right on the Broads. The couple running it have not long taken over and they are trying very hard to make a good impression. Breakfast is superb. the rooms are good but for luxury do not choose the family room. However if you are a family and you want to stay in one room then this is for you. There are lots of little touches that make The Moorhen's much more than a normal B and B. I think they will do very well, and they deserve to.

First off the Moorhen b&b is a super location. It is literally a 30second walk to the water front. The owners Josie and Neil are friendly and very welcoming. They are a exceptionally helpful and Nothing is too big a task for them. The accommodation is exceptionally fresh and clean (fresh fluffy white towels daily). The rooms are decent size and bright and airy. Everyday they are cleaned and have the nice touch of leaving local clotted cream fudge for you to nibble on. The breakfast consists of a good selection of choices ranging from cooked (locally sourced produce) to homemade yoghurt and fresh fruit (again locally sourced). We really enjoyed our stay at this b&b and are already planning another visit to it. Well worth the money for the super service.

Lovely location by the river. A warm welcome, very comfortable bed in the room by the garden. Breakfast probably bet ever had in a b&b. The local bacon was superb. We were delighted. Only point is that neighbouring room sound very audible due to thin walls but this was really not a real problem. We were delighted.

We booked five of the Moorhen’s rooms for several nights in August for a family celebration. I cannot speak highly enough of this lovely bed and breakfast – immaculate rooms and wonderful breakfasts. The presentation of the breakfasts was just beautiful to come in to, with fruit salad and so forth laid out, and then a variety of cooked items, all prepared freshly to our individual requirements. Beats a hotel buffet on a hot plate by a long way! But the main assets of this establishment are the owners, who seem to have been born to run a bed and breakfast, they are already so good at it. Booking, parking, getting trains, tea when we arrived, information, those breakfasts, they are so helpful.

We stayed 1 night at The Moorhen & had a great experience. Neil, out host greeted us with tea & biscuits on arrival & we sat outside our lovely room with great wet room en suite totally relaxed. Next morning we had a great breakfast including white pudding, delicious.
We shall certainly recommend this B & B to our friends

Stayed two nights in the room they call the coot, it is the garden shed, it has two sets of bunk beds one set having a double below. We were a party of four female family members all being the wrong side of 50.
Room was fine for 2 nights but would not want to stay any longer, as there isn't any where to hang clothing put personal bits ie: perfume, deodorant etc etc. shower was just about ok. But beds were very comfy. Would not want to stay in there when weather is cold thou.
But we all agreed we would stay there again inside main building it was a lovly clean and pleasant stay, breakfast was yummy absolutely perfect.
The couple who run it go over and above the norm b&bs, very friendly and helpful.
Great location.
I think if the only room available is the coot as was us go for it. It's a great experience, if the weather is good and only for a couple of nights.

This is a small b&b which normally I would avoid however I was so glad that I booked here due in part to the reviews on trip advisor. Neill & Josie our hosts were so welcoming & couldnt do enough for you nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms & en suite were emaculate maybe on the small side but hey how long do you spend in it. Breakfast plentifull & catered for all tastes & all cooked fresh.. do try the white pudding everyone seemed to avoid it but they are not what you expect. I repeat a previous reviewer the Moorhens main attributes are Josie & Neil a lovely couple who will bend over backwards for you. Neil if you read this get your recipe out for tatie scones & give a brilliant Norfolk breakfast a scottish twist. All the best.
