hi, i visited the evenhill today , 30th march , for lunch with my wife and father in law. on entering we were immediately welcomed by the friendly barman. the upstairs bar area is a good size, plenty of seats. we ordered our food, i had hamburger, excellent, my wife had staek and said it was delicious. my dad in law had scampi which he was very impressed with. good selection of beers and lager. the other customers who came in after us were very friendly and a nice bloke with 2 dogs was a real pleasure to chat to. there is a real fire in the bar area and the evenhill stands for everything good about a traditional english pub. good food, great staff, friendly customers. we will definetly be returning. thankyou evenhill.

Had the best home cooked fish and chips ever here. We were staying down the road and the first night the food and welome was so good we came back all 3 nights of our visit. We ate in the pub rather than the restaurant as the atmophere and open fire were so good. Service was not so good unfortunately on the Saturday night ( even though it was not that busy! ) but dont let that put you off , its well worth a visit!

Reserved a table here to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed. We were seated upstairs in the dining area and it was lovely and warm with a view over the pub downstairs.
We had the steak and belly pork. The steak was a little underdone for my liking (I like it v. well done!) but the belly pork was superb (I managed to steal a mouthful!).
The restaurant despite being busy didn't keep us waiting too long for food, the service was friendly and attentive. Will definately return!

I've never been disappointed with the food here. There's a good selection on offer and the pricing is very fair. It also has that nice mix of 'local pub' feel and well maintained gastropub to it, making dining a pleasant yet informal experience. Well worth a punt.
