We used to visit the white horse for lunch nearly every Saturday after her swimming lesson - unfortunately we go less frequently now we have moved! The pub has a cozy ambiance and even when full doesn't feel too crowded due to the layout. The food is of a consistent & good quality. They will prepare most items on the menu in a child size portion which is great. The only downside is the lack of a garden or outside area.

I visited this pub in the picturesque village of Chilham st in the heart of the English countryside.
A charming venue in peacefull surroundings situated in front of the church.
It was a cold day and a warm welcoming feature was the blazing log fire where we ate a beautifully prepared meal of local produce, which we accompanied with a pint or two of the many fine ales that are available.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we were treated as welcome guests, not just passing trade.
The landlord, Mr Flynn even came and introduced himself and asked how we were enjoying our meal.
We will certainly return to this delightful pub and will not hesitate to recommend it to our friends

I took a taxi from Canterbury and my husband walked the North Downs Way. They were very friendly and let me sit in the bar area waiting for him. We got a feel of a small, quaint village. Our last time here there was a wedding going on in the church next door. Fun to see all the people coming in for a drink before the wedding. I saw their specials on the board but nothing appealed so ate off the menu. I think the atmosphere kind of overwhelms the food enjoyment. We just enjoyed being there.

Ideal location, reasonably priced food. They have the occasional live band so you may want to check in advance as it may or may not be your thing.

Popped in here for a sandwich before starting a longish walk along the North Downs way. Nothing particularly special , but adequate choice and service. The building is as we expect a traditional English pub to be - quite small, bit dark and full of nooks and crannies and none the worse for it.
