“excellent”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

Myself and my husband stayed at the Dunkirk Canterbury services Travelodge 9th and 10th Jan 2014 , we visited sheilas kitchen which is on site for breakfast and dinner. The choices of dishes were excellent cooked to perfection . the service was attentive and friendly , we sat watching a variety of birds whilst enjoying our food and would recommend a visit if you are on the A2 passing or staying at Travelodge.

“Little Chef where you don't need a big pocket”
Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

We love it here and since we discovered it, visit at least once a fortnight - great breakfasts at a reasonable price, with locally sourced options. Sheila has taken a brave step and retained all the good elements of a Little Chef and none of the bad. We enjoy watching all the wild birds in the garden!

“I'd ill to see 'Sheila's Kitchen' replace more Little Chefs'”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

On arrival I was most shocked at the responsible prices. Whilst it's clear the owner's little Chef experience is no doubt playing park in the success, it isn't compelling her to rip anyone off.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. It felt like a family run cafe rather than a motorway truckers stop.
I was most impressed with the attention to detail: nice flowers on each table, potted plants and the bird garden outside which I understand is kept going from the sale of books at 50p each (simply excellent)
The leather seating area looked welcoming but I didn't use it as it was solo visit.

The thing to remember about this place is that it is only a few minuets out of Canterbury and is a great alternative simply because of the parking. Find me a cafe with parking in Canterbury.

Staying in the Travelodge? Walk over to Sheila's Kitchen

“Basic but pleasant and good value”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Stayed in the adjacent hotel for one night and didn’t fancy driving to find somewhere to eat; so we tried Sheila’s kitchen. For basically a roadside café, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of food. Service was good, efficient and pleasant. Basically not much more than a Little Chef, but for a quick meal near the ferry port it was just what the Dr. ordered. £35 for two including a fair bit of wine( just to help us sleep obviously)

They make a point of feeding birds and squirrels and it was quite pleasant to watch them eating through the restaurant window.
