Having compared many local wedding venues of varying grandeur or budget, my daughter was impressed with the friendly and co-operative attitude found at Howfield Manor Hotel which is located near the historic City of Canterbury.
After discussions and advice offered, wedding fairs attended and sample menus tasted the decision was taken and the date finalised.
The marriage and formalities completed locally, the entourage set off to Chartham.
Car parking was very good and guests greeted the newlyweds with enthusiasm.
Hotel staff welcomed everybody offering canapes and drinks as they entered the Manor.
Photo's were taken outside in the beautiful grounds with a large decking area as well as the well kept lawns. The guests then made their way into the dining hall where everything was set up as arranged.
The entree was served followed by the main as the attentive staff busied themselves. Desert was followed by Champagne in readiness for the traditional speeches which were well received (I'm pleased to say!) This was followed by tea and coffee while the dining area was transformed into the ballroom. The disco gently struck up and the bar opened serving a good variety of drinks at reasonable prices with virtually no delays.
The accommodation was a mix of different periods with all rooms occupied and no complaints.
In the morning, breakfast was served with an adequate family and guest menu.
All in all the Hotel fulfilled all expectations with courteous and friendly service throughout.
