“The Duke Of Cumberland”

Had to visit Barham unfortunately for a very dear friends funeral and chose this Pub/Guest House because of it's location. They made a sad visit very comfortable for us with their friendliness and fantastic service. Great food and drink, comfortable room and a lovely atmosphere in the bar.
Thoroughly recommended.

We recently went to the Duke for a birthday meal. Have been for Sunday Lunch and werent disappointed then and certainly werent the second time round. The food is fantastic .

Menus varied and interesting and the puddings are glorious ...food glorious food in abundance here.

Staff always very welcoming and friendly .

Got a sister pub up road called The Jackdaw ..will try that out soon too .

In addition to the main menu, it was also 'Italian night' with extra dishes. Excellent food and wine,

“Lovely village pub with great food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

Stopped at the Duke of Cumberland for dinner this evening. Food was lovely, I had lamb with Mediterranean vegetables and cous cous and my boyfriend had the pan fried chicken with a mushroom and Gorgonzola glaze which was just delicious. Desserts afterwards were just as good and coffees were served in a cafetiere which was a nice touch. Thoroughly recommended.

“A proper pub serving excellent food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

We came across this pub on trip advisor after trying out about 4 others in the area which were either closed or just not suitable for our family group. The guy on the bar could not have been more helpful or accomodating which is always a good start. The kids playground was ideal and interesting with slides, sandpit and wendy house for the little ones to enjoy and explore. The pub itself was welcoming and cosy with flagstone flooring and a big fire. But the best bit about it all was undoubtedly the food, the homemade pasta with garlic, courgette and halloumi was amazing, the fish and chips were a good size and tasty too, in fact everything we ordered was homemade, delicious and value for money. The children enjoyed their food and got to play board games afterwards so everyone was content, happy and full. Great traditional proper pub will definitely be going back, not sure why anyone would want to visit a chain pub when you have gems like this around!!
