Staff= very professional and friendly, can sometimes be understaffed. Sarah was very good and alway friendly.

We got upgraded to an amazing room. 4 poster bed and the best bathroom ever. Amazing room , clean and tidy and amazingly furnished.

The food was very good if not a little pretentious! But very good quality. The bar is nice and the bar well stocked.

I would come back and stay. Very good hotel.

Went for the Christmas Break and hoped for a bit of a Christmas House Party which didn't materialise. Food was fine and the staff tried hard. Felt they were understaffed a bit and some didn't have enough experience espescially for a "prestigious" break. Great setting and nice building but showing its age a bit.

Room Tip: There are some nicer rooms but you need to try mentioning Tripadvisor to get them

Have just returned from a magical 4 night stay at the Sea Marge from 23rd to 27th December, with my children. It’s a big gamble deciding to go away for Christmas, especially somewhere you’ve never been before but we needn’t have worried-our expectations were far exceeded.
We were greeted on arrival by one of the eternally friendly, efficient and highly professional members of staff who personally showed us to our room and was most insistent that we were assisted with our luggage by her colleagues.
I will never forget our first impression of our suite-The Lookout-reached across its own galleried landing. As the door opened I saw two rooms, one leading off the other, in cream and gold and flooded with light from windows on both sides. Two of them were huge bay windows with breath-taking views across the gardens to the sea. There was also a huge bathroom with the biggest shower I’ve ever seen and a Jacuzzi bath!
Throughout our stay the food was excellent and generous and everything was well organised, thoughtfully planned and ran very smoothly. The hotel was full of character, quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The beautiful sandy beach was just a short walk away and walks along it were a welcome Christmas experience. We also used the heated pool in the sister hotel, the Links, just a short distance away-an added bonus! The very hard-working staff were helpful and eternally patient-often in the face of some very challenging guests. The housekeeper was a joy! It was a lovely way to spend Christmas-a real home away from home but with all the stress taken away.
I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an elegant, peaceful and relaxing break.

Booked this hotel before reading up on it on TRIPADVISOR. After reading some of the comments I had second thoughts BUT as we were going for the THURSFORD CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR we had no alternative but to stay with this booking as it was too late to change hotels.

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by a manager. Picked up our key from reception. Went to our room 5. (Cases had already arrived at the room). Opened the door only to find a single bed (I know I had booked a double) walked through a connecting doorway only to find a full double bed, coulour TV and tea and coffee maker. Spotless en suite (fully tiled) bath with shower, wc and wash basin. HOT WATER at all times.

As we were going onto Thursford for the show, dinner was arranged at 4 o'clock. This consisted of a starter course, main course and dessert. The the starter and dessert were seved by waiting staff and the main course was served buffet style.Coffee and tea were served.
We returned to the hotel at 10.45 to be greeted with tea, coffee and hot mince pies.

Breakfast was the usual fresh fuit, cereal, yogurt AND a full English fried meal and tost with jams, honey and marmalade.

Contact with ALL staff was pleasant.

Not bad for a Hotel with only three stars.

The ONLY DOWNSIDE is the gravel drive to the hotel. There were several potholes to avoid if walking.

We regularly eat at The Sea Marge Hotel. The hotel is a stunning old building. Beautiful setting. The menu is varied. Staff lovely.
It is worth calling in for morning coffee, then going for a lovely stroll along the beach. Then arrive back at the Hotel for lunch. Superb

Room Tip: We have never stayed the night, so cannot comment.

Scones jam clotted cream and tea is incredibly good value, eaten in the bar or outside in the lovely gardens, with long distance sea views. Price only £3.90 in a posh hotel!! Go there every time we visit Cromer.(Careful you don't order afternoon tea -thats a lot more). Coffee served in a silver server incredibly cheap too, morning or afternoon.

Bar snacks good but a bit expensive for what you get.

Sunday lunch carvery is excellent and good value. Not dirt cheap, but a lot better and a lot cheaper than many other places in the area. If you can, book the tables which give views out to sea. The dining room has a good ambience. Properly laid out tables with starched napkins and silver cutlery

Never stayed in this hotel, but think it would be good

We have just returned from our 6th visit taking in the Thursford Christmas show which was as spectacular as the reviews would suggest. The superior rooms at this hotel are large and luxurious, the staff are excellent and the restaurant very good. The break represented good value.

Room Tip: Chose a superior room. These rooms have sea and garden views and are very quiet.
