Highly recommend this beautiful little barn ... Beautiful inside and out ... very comfortable beds, milk tea & coffee had been left for our arrival , even had Christmas decorations ! everything you need for a short break . Many thanks Sally and family .
This property is a gem. We stayed for three nights and would highly recommend. The village of Mark is a great base for touring the area, the coast is a short drive away, Wells, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge are all within easy reach too. There are two pubs in the village that are great for pub-type food. The Cow House is immaculately presented, everything inside is very modern and comfortable. The host is very friendly and efficient - answering questions promptly. Also this property is really good for those with mobility issues - everything is on the flat.
Really enjoyed staying in the Cow House for a relaxing girly weekend - it's a lovely holiday home in a lovely rural location. The kitchen is well equipped, has everything you need if you want to cook and have an evening in and the living area is very cosy with a large, comfortable sofa. Overall it's a good size for a group of friends or a family to stay. The wine cooler and bluetooth speakers were nice extras!
The house is in a good location for visiting other areas of Somerset, we took a 10 minute drive to Burnham-on-sea for a walk on the beach and around an hours drive to Bath for some shopping and lunch.
Gorgeous! We absolutely loved staying in the immaculate Cow House, which has been very tastefully decorated and offers a high standard of accommodation. The kitchen has all the utensils you need along with a few delightful surprises, these being inbuilt blue-tooth speakers and a wonderful wine fridge! The owners had thoughtfully put a pint of milk in the normal fridge, which we appreciated, as the local shop was not open when we arrived. We found the double bed to be very comfortable and slept well. The bathroom is quite spacious and has a large overhead shower and the lights are controlled by sensors, so if you get up in the middle of the night, you don't have to worry about searching for a light switch. The mirror in the bathroom also has a set of lights which can be turned on by pressing a switch underneath the mirror, should you require extra light.
The village itself has two very good pubs, which offer superb food, but it is advisable to book in advance, as both pubs were busy when we visited, which as a Saturday night The pubs are easy walking distance. The area itself is perfect for visiting the Cheddar Gorge and Burnham-on-Sea.
We would highly recommend this property and plan to stay there again. The owners are both lovely and friendly, so certainly made our stay a welcome and enjoyable one.
