Our evening was capped off by dinner at Dona Paula. I was in Santiago for a business meeting and our local team arranged for us to have a tour of Santa Rita Winery. First stop was the Andean Museum on the grounds, we then walked through the Vineyards to the Winery itself. We had a wonderful tour of the entire operation including the wine cellars that had been damaged during the earthquake. It was a first class operation. We then headed through the Arboretum (what amazing trees!), picking Almonds off trees and eating them, picking grapes off a Magnolia tree and eating them. The grounds were just absolutely fantastic. We then visited the beautiful little Catholic Church adjacent to the Casa Real Hotel. Absolutely stunning. The Hotel was so inviting (we all wished we were staying there) and they had a lovely wine tasting for us. I think the Sauvignon Blanc might have been my favorite but it was all good. We then had a wonderful dinner in Dona Paula. The lamb chops were fabulous and the wine was good too! It was a great way to spend an afternoon & evening and I would highly recommend it.
