“Great Holiday for a great Price!”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Spent 2 weeks here and the we loved it as much as the kids. Entertainments team were warm, welcoming and excellent with the children. Accommodation was clean and spacious. If you are looking for 5 star accommodation then this isn't the place for you, but to eat, wash and sleep in it was fine. It's in a great location, only 5 min walk to the beach and amusements. Will be returning again next year. Great holiday was had for a fantastic price.

Had a brilliant time. Chalet was clean. Very spacious. Everybody was friendly. So close to the beach and local eateries, shops and amusements.
Prices were low, shockingly low compared to where we live.

Book this as a very last minute get away for the Bank Holiday. The accommodation is what it is. We booked a Florida Apartment as there were only 2 of us. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and welcoming and gave us good directions to the apartment.

The apartment itself was a studio with a small kitchen area, living room area, small dining table and a very small double bed all in the same room. It was very basic but clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Lets face it its bed and bathroom for the night with somewhere to make a cup of tea and slice of toast for breakfast. The apartment was very dated but it was absolutely fine for us.

If you are spending a fortnight there with a family you would probably want a bit more luxury in the accommodation itself but we hardly spent anytime there anyway.

The area itself was excactly what you get on the tin. It was a fast food, kids entertainment heaven - if you like that kind of thing. We literally used it as a base for a break we drove out to nice pubs to eat in the evening and then went to a bar for a few drinks when we got back.

The entertainment is holiday park entertainment - do not expect anything else.

The food is burger and chips all the way - do not expect anything else.

We didn't go in the pool but we had a look in and it looked fairly decent.

All in all a good weekend.

Richardsons is a budget place to stay so I was not expecting plush surroundings or vegas style entertainment.
The site is very tired, very much in need to some TLC, but clean and tidy.
Stayed in a 'RIO' chalet, these are the cream of the crop on offer, you get a decent sized sitting room, 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms, a decent sized kitchen, shower room, bathroom and 2nd WC.
Ours was clean and internally well maintained, a decent range of crockery and cutlery, cooking utensils, toaster, pots, pans, kettle, fridge freezer etc etc.
Beds were comfy enough but are standard singles and doubles so not as spacious as most people have at home.
Cupboard space was minimal, only 1 electric socket in each room, so charging phones, sat navs, dvd players, ipads etc was quite a chore.
The on site laundry is used by all and sundry that wander in off the street, the sports bar was clean, tidy and well staffed, beer prices good (and only 60p to play pool)
The main show hall for bingo, dancing and entertainment was clean, tidy, 140 degrees to keep you drinking like a fish, the PA system set so loud that people on the ISS can possibly hear what is going on ( requests for it to be turned down and the air conditioning to be turned on were ignored)
The entertainment team appeared to be 3 young (maybe early 20's) people, there seemed to be no push to join the kids club, no adverts of what was going on daily.
The swimming pool is very small with all the non swimmers packed in to one end like sardines, but it is clean.
As I stated earlier, the place is clean and tidy, could do with a few quid being thrown at making the accommodation look a little less like a prison of war camp, I am sure the entertainment team will grow in to their roles quickly.
My family and I used it as a home from home for exploring the surrounding area, had the main hall been bearable to stay in, we may have spent more time in camp and invested more money that they can then plough in to modernisation.

Room Tip: Get a chalet away from the entertainment complex, I really cannot stress how loud it is!

I spent five days at Hemsby Beach holiday village in one of their Mustique apartments, I stayed there with my daughter and three Grandchildren aged 3,4 and 7 . Our accommodation was clean and modern although basic but fine for our needs. The outside needs some modernising and painting. Reception was friendly and helpful and when one of the children said his mattress was uncomfortable , they changed it for a new one immediately. The children enjoyed the club very much and the soft play area . Hemsby itself is ideal for kids, lots to do, they loved panning for gold and mini golf. There is a lovely sandy beach very close by. In all a very good holiday for the cost.

Room Tip: Would recommend the Mustique apartments but I don't think I would choose the cheaper chalets. Ou...

We have recently returned from a week at the hemsby beach holiday village which we all thoroughly enjoyed. There was 6 of us, this being my partner and I, plus the 4 children. We stayed in a chalet which consisted of a twin, double and pull out sofa which was absolutely fine in terms of comfort. Granted the place isn't huge but when you're paying a little over £400 for a week, we couldn't grumble. The chalet itself was clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our break. I was particularly impressed by the club house, it was large in size and they had something on every night to keep everyone entertained, the entertainment staff were nice and friendly and the play area in the corner was a welcome addition to keep the children happy. The swimming pool was small but clean. There was another bar area with pool tables and darts, and kids club was on every day. On the two occasions I needed to use reception, they provided what I needed happily and professionally, the second occasion when I asked for a blanket at reception, in the time it took me to walk back to the chalet, the housekeeping lady was already waiting for me. Location is perfect, literally round the corner are endless eateries, amusements, crazy golf, trampolines, panning for gold, soft play area which is free and the beautiful beach which is manned by life guards at all times. We had a lovely meal at the lacon arms, a Sunday roast and would recommend. There are also old fashioned red buses which stop right outside the camp to take you into Yarmouth which we all loved. Once there, there is loads to do. Overall, a fab, low cost holiday which i would recommend to anyone.

We have just spent a week at this holiday village and what a horrible place it is.When we arrived in the reception for the keys we were told it was not ready. One hour later a cleaner turned up,not caring that we were stood there, says to the reception hat that place was a in a right state. This is not what you want to hear on arrival.First day we noticed there was something wrong with the bed.when we woke up in the morning we noticed the clock was flashing, which indicates we had a power cut. After complaining about both things they said yes we know about these. We will sort out your bed and the power cut happens every night but its not our fault.
Next night we had all the lights blow and not work all night so had to use a touch. When I went down stairs to report this they said its not our fault. A sparky turned up and after trying to blame us for not having any credit in the system he admitted that the fuse box was at fault and had to get a mate to help him.The bath was disgusting and filthy and had no shower when we were told there will be a shower.Again These are not there problem. We were going to have a cooked breakfast but had no frying pan, again down the office and they handed me one and said sorry but its not our problem.Being in the apartments above the shops on the front i had to park my car in the main carpark which they also allow anyone and everyone to use and when we had been out and come back there was no where to park so had to use the pay and display opposite and went to complain AGAIN and again they say its not our problem.Overall the bed was broken and unrepairable, power cuts every night, disgusting bathroom, not enough utensils filthy carpets, unsafe electric fire, display cabinet which has no purpose as all the handles had been taken off,a tiny TV,lights going off in the middle of the night,no where to park, very very poor decoration, very load noise from the club until around 2 in the morning, and a very poor site in general.
After having an appointment with the so called manager how like to hear his own voice and does not want to hear the truth stated to me in no uncertain terms that everything we have experienced in the apartment (shed) is not there fault but ours.He is a guy with attitude and does not seem to care about the future of this site.He needs to remember that they need customers more than customers need them, or else they will go under. Good luck with that. After advising him that i will be sending a letter of complaint to the head office of Richardsons and going on Tripadvisor and any other website i can find he said DO YOUR BEST, So I am.
Due to this all I can say is DONT DO IT,Dont book it,Dont go there.

Room Tip: Choose a room on another holiday park
