“Before heading to the beaches of LAIYA....”
Review of Playa Laiya

Before you head to the beach, do pass by the San Juan market. There's plenty of local fruits of the season, fresh tuna for grilling, the delicious puto! and tamales, pinipig, and do not forget Batangas coffee (ground or beans).

I brought my family and friends to Laiya, San Juan Batangas as recommended by a friend of an in law. It was a long drive from Manila but short enough for 15 people to enjoy in such short notice. The beach sand was white and clean, the water was clear and temperature was cool throughout the day even if the sun was fierce. Since it was in the middle of the week, hardly anyone was around except for some team building group.
Kabayan Beach Resort was able to accommodate all of us in 1 cottage which has 2 bedroom - (each has 2 dbl beds+1bunk, large enough for more ppl), outside kitchen, dining & living area. I opted for meals provided by the resort during our stay. There were activities for everyone to enjoy and explore. Considering that the place is in close proximity to the beach, some facilities & amenities needed updating and the staff were receptive to our suggestions. Meals served were good and more than enough for all of us.
Overall, everyone enjoyed themselves in the pool and around the beach. It was a good place to stay.

If you are looking for a place to unwind but do not want to travel beyond Luzon area, Laiya would be a good option. Clean and clear, good for swimming. You just need to pick a good spot or resort. Better to gon on a weekday as weekends are usually crowded.

Water good for swimming. Hotels and resorts available for groups and couples. Not so much activities going on but you can do banana boat, jetski, snorkeling. Jetski operated by strict staff at 4,500pesos an hour. Food at La Luz resort is better than Blue Coral which has a set of menu you don't wish to go back to at a Buffett. Acquatico has a more classy surroundings. No jelly fish experience yet. Waters swimable. Staff are friendly. Nice to hangout the beach at night where there are stars and silence.

Beach isn' the greated. Sand is rocky and coarse but it's just 2.5 drive away from Manila so not so bad. I've stayed at 4 different resorts and experience varies on each visit. I still would keep coming back as long as water stays clean.
