“Very accomodating”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

We spent 4 days there and for the most part we were the only guests. As promised welcome drinks were served when we arrived. The room we stayed in was the suite, the one with a bath tub. It was spacious, clean, and inviting. The food is really, really great. I loved it that you can choose to have it served either at the bar or have room service. Also, you can have it cooked much earlier then just have it reheated when you're ready to eat. The only drawback about the food is that the portions are small and for that size I think the prices are too expensive. The grilled entrees are really small; although they say it's good for 2, it's really just for 1 person.
The staff is really very accommodating and friendly. :) You can request for about anything-DVDs, a new DVD player if the one in your room isn't working...and they even gave us free banana cues! For free! We even had a little chit-chat with the receptionist because we share the same anniversary date. :)
The beach is mediocre, but that goes for all beach resorts in LAiya. Sand is grainy.
Taramindu is highly recommended. :D

The place looks promising and we were looking for an impromptu beach retreat this weekend. I inquired if there were rooms available and for the type that we wanted, there was 4. I asked if I can make a reservation and I was told yes if I made a 50% deposit at the bank, but the banks were closed already! So guess what the answer was? No -I cannot make a reservation, I would have to take my chances when I go there.

They didn't just lose me, but they lost all of the people I regularly refer to the beautiful beach of Laiya. To the management, its either you have to have better options for booking or you have to teach the person who answer +63 2 775 8567 the meaning of customer service.

When we booked with Taramindu, the reservation officer was easy to talk to and answered our questions clearly. We were a group of six and we stayed last weekend in their Suite Room 10 on the second floor.
The room could fit six but 2 people will have to sleep on a mattress on the floor. It had a queen-sized bed and a single bed; we fit 3 people on the queen and 2 on the single, and 1 on the extra mattress. I don't think a second extra mattress would fit in the room. The bed was not as firm as I would have wanted but I got a full night's sleep (I just wish they had thicker drapes). The aircon works great; there is also a cable TV and ref. The bathroom was huge, with a shower area (couldn't work the heater properly though) and a bath tub. And it had a big terrace where we hung wet clothes to dry. They also don't have videoke or loud music playing at night, which is great.
The resort had a restaurant which you can order anytime and use your mandatory consumable P600 per head for food and drinks. Food was average, that's why I rated the resort 4/5 overall, must try is their fruit shakes and I liked their Longanisa breakfast and Pakbet. They have individual meals and viands for sharing. We always ordered in advance from the restaurant and the staff always goes up to our room to tell us our food is ready.
Their beach front was clean and not too crowded even though the resort was fully booked. They had cabanas where you can leave your things and they have staff who watch over them and people on the beach. They also have a bouy line which indicates that beyond the line, the water is already very deep. We noticed that they allow other people not staying with them to swim in "their" property, which was ok since nobody can own the sea. But they are strict in implementing not bringing food from outside the resort (except for snacks), which was also great because it limits the trash being thrown everywhere (some people just lack the discipline to put trash in the bins). Even on the beach front you can get their free wifi access coming from the restaurant.
We would definitely come back - 3 hours away from Manila on good roads, great beach, very good service, sleep-worthy room, and not overpriced.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, get a suite room, definitely more space for the maximum 6 people. And if avail...

Been here twice in the last couple of weeks. Team of Spuses Junior (an MD) and Carmen have done an excellent job in making sure customers are happy. One can not get any closer to the beach- - do your Facebook, email, stock market trading with your feet on the sand, with sips chardonnay, or cabernet, etc., in between. Staff is very friendly and aim to please- Tonette of front desk, Madz, Ryan, Ronnell- - restaurant and Tacio, Manuel, Raymond- - kitchen made sure that we have wonderful dinners of fresh fish (bought from
the local fisherman themselves) plus their local fare- - adobo, kaldereta, etc., all moderately priced. To sum it up- - Taramindu is a ten room B&B suited for families, for business,- - or anybody who wants to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city- - - at a moderate price very . Take it from sosmebody who is from New York and California- -

Room Tip: If you need anything or have a concern- - ask/request a staff. They will go out of their way to addr...

the worst resort i have been. there was bo electricity and it took hours before they fixed tge generator, after that the lights went off again twice. confronted the front desk but they were so rude saying they cant predict things like this like we have to bear and adjust with them. supposed to be vacation to relax but it went bad, poor customer service skills. the bathroom is infected with big ants and food taste good but too expensive total ripped off. cant wait to leave the place really false advertising. i dont want peoplr to lose job but it would be unfair for the paying customers if i would say i can recommend it. i wouldrather pay extra to avoid that experience again. we will not comeback!

Our stay at Taramindu was very memorable. The place provides the basic amenities. The staff was nice enough and attentive. The food was not so good though but the tapa and the coffee for breakfast were exceptions.

The location is great with an awesome view of the sea perfect for relaxing under the sun. Guests can enjoy lounging on the beach close to the shoreline either in Taramindu's huts or beach chairs.

Our group got two connecting units on the second level. The rooms were clean and the ACs were working properly. The restrooms were clean, roomy and everything was working fine. Some improvements in the decorations could be made to make the units more pleasing because there were moments when it seemed stuffy but that's just me.

All in all, it was a satisfying stay.

I can say that the resort was good, and the food was great but a little bit expensive for the serving they gave us. The room is small for a maximum of 5 persons and by the way the room that was given to us has no lock on its cr and it has poor room lighting that we can barely see what we are doing at night time. The room has a dvd player and you can borrow dvd movies at their reception but you have to bear with the small television they have. They don't have swimming pool unlike other resorts but they have an inflatable kiddie pool. I have to mention that the entrance of the resort was a little bit scary because you have to past through an abandoned cemetery. I suggest you search for other beach resorts along Laiya.
