We recently spent a night at this excellent B&B. The room was really well-furnished and the bathroom luxurious and a perfect place to relax in the tub in. Pat and Bill were extremely helpful when it came to suggesting local pubs and drawing maps of the local area. We also very much appreciated the cookies and yummy pear cake upon our arrival and, despite a mix up with the clocks changing, there was no problem with breakfast then being a bit later than usual and so we very much enjoyed our full Norfolk and a wake-up pot of tea and felt refreshed after a good night's sleep in a very comfy bed. It was only a shame that we could only stay for the one night in the end. We shall have to come back again when it's warmer and go for a dip in the natural pool!

Room Tip: We had the smaller room but were still very happy with it and the nice bathroom which was virtually...

We just got back from an amazing stay at Longview B&B in Great Walsingham Norfolk. There is a great dirth of choices when staying in this area, and we really wanted somewhere that was upscale and luxurious, while being reasonably priced. A hard combination! Most of the local inns were quite shabby or chaotic looking. Fortunately, we found Longview. I found them online at longviewbandb.co.uk and was drawn immediately to the amenities, which aren't common in Norfolk! They have a swimming pond, luxury linens, gorgeous modern bathrooms and bedrooms, and the gardens looked so beautiful and welcoming. I talked to Pat, one of the owners of Longview, and she was exceptionally accommodating and pleasant, giving me plenty of information about the house and the local area. Booking was very easy.

When my husband and I arrived, we were greeted by Pat and her husband Bill, and treated to warm, homemade brownies accommpanied by a cafetiere of dark roast organic for me, a hot pot of tea for my husband. I think I'm going to like it here! What I very much appreciated is that both Pat and Bill were very discrete, knowing when to withdraw to allow us our own space, and when to be available to us. We took our refreshments on the deck, and I must say, the view took my breath away! I have posted a picture here because it was just so extraordinary. Besides the beautiful swimming pond, which was in keeping with some of the most luxurious resorts I have been to, the garden sweeps down to an open view of the surrounding fields and finally the sea, a thin line in the distance. Not one obstruction to the view. Amazing!

We had chosen Room 1 for our stay, because we were drawn to the king sized bed (my husband is 6' 3") and intrigued by the ensuite wet room. My goodness, what lovely accommodations. I wish I had taken a picture of the bathroom, because it was fabulous, with floor to ceiling luxury tile, a glass shower, and the fixtures were so modern.

The room was spotless. It has a very warm feel to it thanks to the little touches throughout. Very modern, but very cozy. All of the linens were very nice, especially the sheets. I unpacked before meeting up with Pat in the living room, which is an open plan, almost Scandinavian feeling space. I noted the log burner in the corner, which would be lovely on cool nights. Fortunately, it was comfortably warm outside so no fire today.

We had decided to head out for some dinner. Bill recommended a local restaurant that we could walk to if we wanted the stroll. We did, so off we went! He was very knowledgeable about the local area, which I very much appreciated. We wandered through the Shrine, took the waters, and browsed a few local shops before heading to the restaurant. It is easy to get turned around in the village, but Bill's directions and recommendations were spot on. Thanks Bill!

It was still early when we headed back, and pleasantly warm. Back at the room we decided to try a dip in the swimming pond. What luxury! It was very decadent having a drinkie and a swim while enjoying the sunset. It felt a bit like we were on a soul sabbatical at this point, as the water was so refreshing, and the evening was so still and quiet. Our night was very comfortable. I read and my husband watched tv in the room. The bed was great, not too hard or soft. My husband is a hard one to please when it comes to mattresses, and he was pleasantly surprised. The house is very quiet, and the room temperature was spot on.

Breakfast was a real treat. We decided on the "Full Norfolk". Pat explained how they focus on local food at Longview, and that most of the breakfast was from ingredients at the Farm Shop that we had passed yesterday. The local sausages were divine, and the eggs (cooked to order) were direct from the chickens at the end of Pat's garden! I don't think I have ever had eggs that fresh before.

After breakfast, and another conversation with Bill the Norfolk encyclopedia, we were armed with local haunts to visit, and a recommendation to explore Holkham Beach, which we did. A little shopping in Burnham Market, a spot of tea, and a pint and snack in the local rounded out our jaunt.

We were sad to leave Longview as it was nice a nice escape from the ordinary, and a great jumping off point for the surrounding area. It truly felt as if we were staying with old friends, as Pat and Bill made us feel tremendously welcome. We have already discussed going back after Christmas to enjoy more of the area such as Holt, which we never had an opportunity to visit. We have stayed in B&B's before in England, but never somewhere quite as lovely as this! Thanks Pat for your hospitality and that exquisite breakfast and refreshments. We miss you and the chickens already! And to Bill, thank you for you wealth of knowledge...I can't wait to try the remainder of your recommendations in January.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1, but I did pop by head in to room 2 and it quite nice too.

Well as the first ever guests it's apt that we write the first ever review. Can't sing the praises of Longview highly enough, from correspondence regarding the booking to staying and then leaving everything was great! In a part of the world that is quite expensive to stay it was great to find the same level of finish, if not better at a fraction of the usual cost! We had the large double for two nights, arriving mid afternoon, we were greated with drinks and homemade brownies on the decking over looking the natural pool and rolling fields, lovely. Pat the owner then chatted and showed us to our lovely room, good quality furniture and bedding and a nice wet room, couldn't fault. We also were welcomed with a card and welcoming bottle of wine as her first guests! Throughout the whole stay Pat couldn't do enough for us to make our stay very pleasurable and provide us with anything we needed. Breakfasts were awesome, with choices of garden picked raspberries, yogurts, cereals, jams, to the full cooked which we had both mornings and couldn't be faulted! Don't think either myself or my girlfriend could fault a single thing and have no doubt in returning or recommending!
