The Woodlands Lodge has just hosted our wedding and I must say that there was nothing that could be improved. Imogene has worked very hard and made sure that the big day was perfect and everything went to plan. Every one of the staff is helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Our 30 something guests were all looked after and this really is a perfect location for a wedding. Planning a wedding is a very important event and it needs to be right. We got it right and the weekend was perfect. Thank you Imogene and all her staff.

A wonderful restful weekend break. Excellent food and attentive staff. We arrived on Thursday and enjoyed a wonderful evening dinner with an execellent choice of menu. Food cooked to perfection.
Good sunny weather made it a most enjoyable time.

I find myself regularly traveling in the local area as part of my chosen profession, and probably stay at this particular hotel for a couple of nights every 5-6 weeks or so. I enjoy the peace and quiet, and the fact that I can relax after a busy work day. I find all the rooms I have stayed in so far are well laid out, and have comfortable beds and modern bathrooms, and I always get a good nights sleep. The breakfast is always prepared well, and on the odd occasion that I have eaten a meal in the evening, never had a bad meal.
My only criticism, and it is a very minor one, it that as a business user, in the evenings I tend to catch up with email, reports etc and though there a number of free Wi-Fi access points in the hotel, I don't always get a reliable connection. The signal strength is there, but the signal does drop out. Otherwise, always have a good stay at this hotel.

Lovely location to explore the New Forest area which is truely wonderful.I would highly recommend this hotel and I am sure we will back for a second visit in the near future.

Conveniently and quietly situated, this hotel is perfect for a getaway-peace-and-quiet weekend. Room was simply furnished but with good quality linens, comfy mattress and a good shower and bath, in fact it looked like it had recently been refurbished. Great to have tea and coffee in the room with some cookies, and breakfast was set in a lovely conservatory overlooking the lawns, with a good choice of both continental and freshly cooked items. Staff were excellent, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We didn't eat here as we were dining in the next hotel, however we met some guests who spoke very highly of their evening meal the previous night. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay, and remarkable value for money in this expensive part of the country at only 59 pounds for a double-we will be back.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

We arrived at Woodlands with our friends and our Labrador for a 3 night break on the 19 February at 1230. We were greeted by a very cheerful, helpful and obliging young lady at reception. As we had arrived early we asked if we could leave our cases whilst we went out. She said that it would not be a problem and said that she would check to see if the rooms were ready. They were and we were shown to our rooms. The room was on the first floor overlooking the car park and was bright and clean. As promised the hotel had provided a blanket and a towel for our dog. Our friends room overlooked the tidy back garden and paddock that lead to the forest but they said the room was a little musty. We found all the staff to be helpful, cheerful and obliging. The only downside was the dinner menu which was the same throughout the stay. If we had realised we would not have booked bed and breakfast enabling us to go out for a more varied choice. Breakfast was very good and dogs were certainly made welcome. The only other observations are that there is no lift although the staff offered to help with our cases. There is accommodation on the ground floor for those that cannot cope with stairs. The other observation is that there is access out into the garden from the rear of the hotel but 2 people are required one to stay inside to let the other in or you need to walk round to the front but remember to obtain the code to the door if you are taking the dog out after 1100 pm.
