Booked one night dinner, bed and breakfast in an eaves room to celebrate my husbands birthday and would definitely not hesitate to stay there again. Staff were friendly and our room was lovely, however most impressive of all was the food! Having booked the stay as a "package offer" I fully expected either an "allowance" toward the evening meal or a restricted menu, and so was pleasantly surprised to find we could have anything from the menu, including any number of sides! Not only was the food beautifully cooked and presented, it was also plentiful - both my husband and I are big eaters, but were nearly defeated by the full English breakfast!! Well done to all involved with our stay - we will return,

Room Tip: Eaves room one is tucked away at the end of the corridor so there is no noise from passing guests. B...

What a friendly hotel, lovely staff who could not do more for you. We stayed as a family in room 17 a large suite with garden and conservatory, dog loved it!, room 16 another suite with conservatory and disabled facilities and room 4 a suite for family in the eves, you could not fault all the accommodation in any way. When we had a power cut one morning due to bad weather we even had a bbq breakfast what else could you ask for. The chef at the hotel produces fantastic food and the restaurant is smart but not stuffy so smart casual is ok. We will return as you come away feeling so relaxed as everything has been thought of, down to a fridge for dog food etc.

Room Tip: Rooms 16 and 17 great for dog owners

What else could you wish more? Room 16 with conservatory (very efficient radiators), very clean, spacious and warm. Excellent food and excellent service, very kind and friendly staff!
Location is an easy-to-go anywhere, we and our 2 dogs did enjoy (as usual) stay at Woodlands-Lodge as we already did in the past 4 times.

Room Tip: 16 and 17 have very nice conservatory open to the garden, facing 180 degrees East-West view!

I just want to clarify that if I could, this place would get 3.5 stars, but I don't have that option. I was thinking 4 stars for most of our stay but unfortunately it came apart on our last morning. No hot water for both of us to shower, plus cold coffee at breakfast meant I felt I had to alter my initial rating a bit.

We stayed for two nights in the Garden Suite, which was just lovely. Very handy having the conservatory/courtyard when you've got dogs. The rooms were great, very special. Food in the restaurant was better than we'd expected, really delicious, as was breakfast on the first day.

The location is spot on, with the New Forest accessible from a "secret garden" style gate at the back of the paddock. Just stunning.

However, the second night of our trip, the hotel was much busier and they seemed to struggle as a result of this. I awoke at 730 to find that they were already almost out of hot water for showering, it was stone cold by the time hubby attempted it.

Service at breakfast felt rushed, and as mentioned before, the cold (instant) coffee was less than ideal. This was disappointing, especially when compared to the day before.

Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. We liked the New Forest a lot, and I imagine we'll be back at some point for a longer break. The issues haven't put me off returning, but I did think they were worth a mention.

We have stayed at this hotel several times within the last few years and it is always a relaxing place to return to. The rooms are lovely and the location is superb. The breakfast is very tasty and it's well worth having dinner as the evening menu is very good. Another great break! We'll be returning soon!

We have just returned from a superb family Christmas break at the Woodlands Lodge. Despite arriving to find the hotel was without power due to a recent storm, the whole team rallied round and did everything they could in the circumstances so as not too spoil the excitement of Christmas for our family. Fortunately normal service resumed on Christmas Day afternoon and we thouroughly enjoyed an albeit delayed Christmas lunch. All the staff were superb, the food throughout our stay was excellent (thank goodness for gas BBQ's) and the hotel is simply a delightful place to stay. We were especially taken aback and appreciative of how dog friendly the whole hotel is and with the New Forest on its door step we will definitely be back for more family stays.
It is often said that you only get to see the true colours of an organisation in a situation of adversity. Presented with the nightmare scenario of a fully booked hotel on Christmas Day with out electricity I don't think anyone could have done anything more and certainly our stay was not marred in anyway by the difficult circumstances. A credit to everyone……. we will be back !!!

Originally a hunting lodge. We had 3 nights in a 4-poster decent sized room with added ensuite and balcony overlooking woodlands. Quiet, warm and well supplied. Very clean. Pleasant helpful staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Well placed for Southampton, Beaulieu, Lymington, Lyndhurst & forest walks. Adequate parking. Very limited menu but tasty. Breakfast overcooked by 8.30 am. Bedrooms accessed by steepish stairs; no lift, not recommend for disabled. Free Wifi but variable signal. Discount tickets for Beaulieu at hotel reception. A very pleasant winter short break.
