Owner description: Enjoy the amazing animals at this beautiful park, in the leafy New Forest, with its fabulous adventure playgrounds. Follow the woodland trails to see wallaby, European bison, wolves, wild boar, Scottish wildcats, lynx, foxes, pine marten, polecats, owls and ferrets. Meet the friendly deer and say hi to the playful otters, including the endangered giant otter. Feeding sessions, keeper talks and special events year round. Amazing playgrounds for under 6's and from 6yrs to 86yrs!!!

Visited on 28th August 2013, animals are in their own habitat and therefore the enclosures are overgrown making it difficult to see the animals sometimes. Unfortunately we did not see any Wallaby, Lynx or Wolves, a lot of the animals do sleep as well during the day so not much activity going on. We have been before, but I only go when I have a voucher for one free child with one paying adult as it is not value for money. Find the vouchers on Wave 105 website.
They could do with an refreshment area, (drinks and ice cream) half way round, an ideal place would be the dear enclosure / adventure play area as that is about half way round.
Also, the gift shop could be lovely, they need Mary Portus coming in to sort it out for them. It's a large area but not at all well stocked and has a load of plastic junk.

We visited this morning and saw pretty much all of the animals....including grey wolves running through their enclosure, a lynx, wallaby, bison, countless deer, owls, butterflie and otters. we listened to the keeper and spent around 3 hours at the park. the children, aged 6 and 8 played on the larger of the two playareas. it was a clean park. the toilets were very clean and the whole park was well kept. i dont understand previous reviews saying it was not well kept. it is a wildlife park so the animals are in as natural an environment as they can be. the otters were making such a noise and playing, and the polecats were running round and climbing up the fence to see the visitors. to see grey wolves, lynx and bison so close is lovely and to stroke the deer is wonderful. a lovely park and the animals are well looked after in my opinion.

Without children, you'd be done within an hour. The play areas for the children were fantastic and we did take a leisurely stroll around the animals.
the admission fee of £37.something is very expensive considering you could fill half a day here, maximum.
The staff in the shop were ignorant and rude...i witnessed a small dot of a child lean on a shelf which preceded to fall completely on the floor. Turns out a peg was missing underneath..this is unsafe and unacceptable considering the child was too small to have caused such chaos to a proper sturdy shelving unit. The staff even had the cheek to blame the child, offer no apology and ignore the family who tried to make a purchase.
Although this did not happen to me personally, i was deeply hurt by the fact awful people such as these particular staff are still around in these places!

I have spoken to the staff re the incident in our shop and they have read your comments.
The shelf pins were all in place and the souvenirs etc were not dislodged. The shelf has been re-checked today just to be certain.
It was a very busy time and the parents were calm and responsible and did not feel they had to make a complaint.
I understand it was dealt with efficiently and competently by the staff and we do not accept we employ "awful people".

I am so sorry you do not feel you can visit again especially as so many other visitors enjoy our animals, birds, keeper talks and quiz trails and the average time spent at the park is 3 to 4 hours with or without children.

We had a lovely afternoon here, more animals to see than I expected, great outdoor play areas. My young children loved it.

Great little wildlife park, prices as you would expect. First attraction is good, lots of small mammals and if your patient one will get to see a variety of animals in their habitats. I Didnt get to see the lynx but to be honest I didn't expect to more hoping. The tame deer I genuinely feel were happy and being close and personal was a nice experience. Many animals to observe, and a really enjoyable few hours. Well done.
