Owner description: Enjoy the amazing animals at this beautiful park, in the leafy New Forest, with its fabulous adventure playgrounds. Follow the woodland trails to see wallaby, European bison, wolves, wild boar, Scottish wildcats, lynx, foxes, pine marten, polecats, owls and ferrets. Meet the friendly deer and say hi to the playful otters, including the endangered giant otter. Feeding sessions, keeper talks and special events year round. Amazing playgrounds for under 6's and from 6yrs to 86yrs!!!

We visited here with friends 3 children under 8 and 4 adults all had great fun on the play equipment and looking at the different animals. Butterfly area was lovely especially the cabinet that shows the chrysalis etc, we actually managed to see a butterfly emerging from one. Easy way to get round, following the signs with lots of information about the animals. Didn't use the café as took a packed lunch. There are benches in the park areas to sit at. Only one downside the toilets, unfortunately are BEFORE the entrance, you have to walk back through the park and then catch up with everyone after. It is a good fun day out though and we all enjoyed it.

Went back as we had loved it several years before when it was the Otter and Owl Sanctuary but we were very disappointed. Now, it;s expensive at £10.50 per head for what is there - lots of enclosures but few animals and an eclectic mix at that. Focus has shifted to creating playgrounds for children and away from the animals. The animal enclosures look tired and uncared for, We took a leisurely stroll round but were done in an hour whereas previously had been there half a day.

Thank you for your review.

Our focus has certainly not shifted away from animals. We have introduced more animals in the last few years - wolves, water voles, bison , sousliks, giant otters all of which are conservation projects. We have recently sent a Giant otter (bred by us - as UK first) to Trinidad as part of the IUCN breeding programme for this highly endangered species.

I do hope you took time to include one of the many keeper talks which would have reassured you our continuing commitment to our animals and birds.

The playgrounds help attract families to our park and encourage them to stay longer to enjoy the
animals etc.

Me and my now partner had our 1st date at this little gem in the forest. It was both informative and fun. All the animals are well looked after and the keepers are very friendly and passionate about there positions at the centre. The otters are very cool and all have amazing characters. Being a 1st date we were both clearly nervous until a cheeky deer started to eat my dates shoelace which completely broke the ice. The wild life centre will always have a special place in my heart :)

Spent a great morning here with my toddler. Great value as i only had to pay £10 for me. Lots if animals to see some quite close up, tame deer and wallabees and they have feeding times for many. It is not too zoo like with natural enclosures and plenty of places for animals to hide. Caring staff with plenty of knowledge and time. The food at the cafe is decent. The toddler play park is great and they have an fantastic adventure park for over 6 too. Lovely butterfly house.
