When we arrived (after 3.30 as instructed to) we knocked on the door twice to receive no answer. John was in the house but had not answered the door to us for some reason. When Janet pulled up she did apologise and was very welcoming (as were the lovely dogs).
John was not at all welcoming. We had brought our little dog with us (which Janet had approved beforehand) and were made to feel most uncomfortable by John for bringing him. Furthermore, when my daughter was ill and could not make it to breakfast one morning he did not even respond when this was mentioned - he completely ignored it without even an 'oh dear'.
We would recommend the B& B on the basis of the rooms, that were lovely and clean, and the house which was most picturesque! We also did love the location - the village was charming, and the horse riding was only minutes away. It was a shame that John had not been more friendly!
