Just returned from a two night stay. We were greeted by tea and homemade cake which was delicious. Our room was plenty big enough to accommodate myself, husband and 13 year old daughter. My daughter liked the toiletries provided in the en-suite, which was a nice touch. The cottage is immaculate and very pretty. My daughter especially liked the dogs!! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and I found Janet and John very helpful and friendly. I wanted somewhere to stay where the horses wandered past and we weren't disappointed! We would definately go back again and take our older kids with us.

Welcomed with a cup of tea and a slice of cake our stay at Wayside Cottage was great. The building is lovely, the rooms are great, breakfast was as good as a cooked breakfast gets and Janet and John (I kid you not) were great hosts. I would go back here in a shot.

Just returned from Wayside Cottage. Room was clean and comfortable set in a very peaceful setting both mobile & wifi worked no problem Breakfast was both good quality and plenty of choice with the bonus of home cooked bread and Johns own Honey. All in all a very quiet place will use again and would recommend to friends visiting the area.

Room Tip: We had room2 with a four poster bed

Found this bed and breakfast to be comfortable and easy access for the New Forest. We spent 2 nights here as we were down for a graduation ceremony. We found hosts to be very friendy. Breakfast was of good quality, with homemade breads and jams available. Would we stay here again? Yes we would.

I agree with all the other reviews regarding comfort, cleanliness, decent food, spacious rooms, and quiet setting. Three dogs in evidence were no problem at all and having neither mobile reception nor Wifi was pleasant in itself.

For some reason, however, it felt obligatory to whisper when in the premises and leaving felt like a minor relief. Janet has "it" in terms of hospitality but John is obviously more business and profit conscious and this manifests itself in a sometimes abrupt, sometimes condescending manner which made us feel that wallets were more welcome than guests. No doubt this review will attract an acerbic response - which I suggest will probably go some way to proving the point...........
